  <body>Sorry to post this here, but I absolutely cannot find a solution to this problem on google.

I want to start utilizing the Rotation tool in CS4, but it does not work because openGL is not enabled. When I try and go to preferences in photoshop and then performance, it wont let me toggle on the "enable openGL box. By the way, I'm using a 2.2GHz Macbook Pro Santa Rosa, not the new unibody ones.

Is there anyway I can fix this? My friends older macbook pro can rotate canvas but mine cannot... so I have no idea what is wrong. I am also using a cintiq and I can rotate canvas just fine in painter but yeah... anyways I hope someone can help me. Thanks!</body>

      <body>Thanks guys,

@eZ-kun

I tried doing what you suggested, but it's greyed out and wont let me enable openGL at all. I can't even find a way to update my video drivers. So lame.....</body>

      <body>Hey I'm new to this site, but I had the same problem and though I should add what I found.

It seems the 128MB 8600m GT (at least in the MacBook Pro 2.2) is blacklisted, so you won't be able to enable OpenGL. However, you can download a plugin from Adobe that will let you enable it!

Grab it here &lt;a href="http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4051"&gt;http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4051&lt;/a&gt;

I dropped the AllowOldGPUS.plugin into:

Applications &gt; Adobe Photoshop CS4 &gt; Plug-Ins &gt; Extensions

It works perfectly, but keep in mind that due to the lack of video memory, you can only have 6 OpenGL accelerated windows at any time, less if you also have an external monitor attached and have dual desktops. Windows over the limit will just be normal Photoshop windows.

Looks like Adobe was just covering their asses, rather than there being a huge performance problem. Imagine all the customers screaming when they can only have 3 accelerated windows open at once.

I hope this helps!</body>
