Hey errbody!

I think we’ve finally squashed the Gmail junk filter bug, but if you run into anything else please let us know.

Also, if you can think of anything that would make Emptees even more radical please don’t keep it to yourself. It could lead to serious emotional trauma later.

    The ads were there to begin with, then we removed them to switch to Google, now they’ve been back for a few days. We’ve gotta pay for all this bandwidth some how! :)

    You can edit/delete your own posts, just click the “Edit Post” button underneath the title.

    You can also have a permalink to a specific comment as well. The easiest way to find it would be to look on your profile page under “My Latest Comments” and copy the link like this: http://emptees.com/posts/2-bugs-suggestions-and-bugs#comment_732

    I gotcha. We’re actually going to let you delete your own comments soon, so if you mess up you can just delete it and try again.

    I’m having trouble submitting a new tee: everything goes fine until I click ‘save’, at which point the arrows start turning and it’s trying to connect to emptees.com, but that will go on indefinitely. My image isn’t that big (152 KB) and it’s definitely the right dimensions, so I don’t know what’s going on.

    Hi Joe, yeah there is a bug with some images. Once an image fails, most people are able to hit the back button in their browser and try again and it’ll work.

    If it still won’t work doing that, let me know.

    I think maybe it’s a browser thing… because I couldn’t get it to work in Safari (even by pressing ‘back’), but it worked without a hitch in Firefox.

    please make it so when i am prompted to log in, then i log in, it takes me back to where i was going in the first place (especially to the bottom of the comment list). i’ve wasted a good 5 minutes over the past couple days, just scrolling!

    As far as suggestions go, I’m just going to shoot off some.

    Maybe having a podcast of some sort ran by one of the less busy members. Where you interview fellow designers and do tutorials, talk about trends, music, etc.

    I still think maybe a Jabber or IRC network would be rad.

    As far as the forums go, maybe a list of resources (tutorials,brushes,vectors, etc) that people recommend.

    i’m having some bug where it’s not letting me upload a file, and not giving me an error.
    I’m trying to upload a new shirt, that I put up last night, made some changes, went to edit it, wouldn’t let me save, deleted the shirt and started over, and now it just gives me the upload field.

    any suggestions?

    Have you thought about having an inbox for personal messages? It would be great if we wanna to do business with a particular person and don’t have to use a thread to get their attention! I know most people post their email but it might be cool to shoot someone a quick message to their "emptees inbox!"

    Is your image RGB and 72 dpi? Are you using Photoshop’s "Save for web"?

    That’s a good idea.

    Using the "Buy Artwork" button simply emails the designer. You two could work out buying it as a print if you wanted to.

    it finally let me upload it, the only thing i changed was the "quality" setting on the save for web. the original file was around 290 kb, and the one that ended up working is somewhere around 250. i don’t know what was going on.

    how about this. Emptees codes a small store section. In that store is all the TOTM and TOTY available for printing on Canvas or 100lb Glossy stock. Of course this could be lucritive motivation that could be profitable on both emptee’s and the artists part. even if they are limited edition. Definitely emphasizes that tee shirt art is truely art in every sense and should be excessable in a variety of venues. And obviously if the design is already a companies it doesn’t have to be sold without the proper premissions.

    Instead of that $200-500 you make for selling your 50 love+ design to a printer. you could potentially have a royalty for a every 15-85.00 print sold. and especially with this community it wouldnt be hard at all to get a steady amount of cash flow that surpasses a flat rate you got for the tee.

    well its still tee shirt art if that counts. but some of this stuff is definitely good enough to be displayed all over my walls :). ALSO it immortalizes the best designs and kinda shows a sense of recongition to the very best stuff, that it gets displayed as art, not just clothing.

    Took me ages to find this thread, but I think a PM system could work. It would save a lot of 'ATTN: Whoever' threads, and if someone leaves a message on your t-shirt and you dont notice, and theyd like a reply, they dont have to make a thread, and if they reply and you ask them something but they dont know, then you dont have to make a thread and so on.

    What about being to "love/favorite" a forum post. I know there are some old posts I still want to write in and searching for them isn’t easy sometimes.
    Like this one. I forgot what it was called and had to find your profile and find all of the posts you have ever made to get to this one.

    Anyway in IE7 the images in posts are getting resized to be crazy small. The images in quotes are still correct. Just not the images in the original post, they’re even smaller than the quote thumbnail. Sometimes when I refresh a thread - it fixes itself. Dunno. IE CSS support FTL!

    Also the NSFW and SPOILER tags are kind of hit and miss with it. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.

    The actual problem is that mousing over them does not cause them to go away and reveal the text. Maybe IE fails at the hover pseudo class in some new and amazing way?

    godmachine had the same problem. guess it’s a bitch optimizing a site for IE..
    use mozilla, opera, safari, whatever, just stop the nonsense. IE sux, and event they know it!

    Hey I just posted an idea in the big cartel forums... I’m not sure how much airtime they get from the head honchos so I figured I’d let you know over here.

    I just got a job buying for a boutique that’s looking to get good, albeit very lesser-known brands in there if possible. So I turned to big cartel and started searching through the stores only to get pretty frustrated since there are absolutely no filter options within clothing. I go into more specific detail about what these filtering options could be.

    if you do a keyword search, it only returns one page of results, but if i click on the actual tag on a tee shirt page, i get all the associated pages.

    Found this out trying to sort out the tee off shirts using toffvomit1.

    Um there was a whole thread of suggestions at one point somewhere, lets see if I can remember some of them...

    • A "Spec" section, where people looking for spec work can post and leave everyone else who doesn’t want spec work alone.

    • The ability to scroll through the shirts of just one artist. The way its set up now, it goes to the next shirt that was uploaded on that date in general, not the next shirt by that specific artist.

    • Restricting the upload to only about 3 shirts a day to keep people from spamming their designs. Its annoying as hell.

    • A link to my shirt mock up resource in the tee submission menu would be nice :)

    One thing I’ve always wanted is to have the html quick tags or whatever (link, image, nsfw etc) in the "new post" screen. If I make a new post and want to add that stuff I have to open a new tab and load up an existing post and copy and paste the code stuff into my new post tab. ya get me?
