Webpage makers

posted 7 months ago by GhostmakerAZ

How much do you guys usually charge?

My .com just goes to my store right now, I want to have an actual webpage. I really don’t like complicated/flash/too much going on type pages.

I would like a nice crisp page that has a blog/store/contact info.

Hit me back if you like working with poor, indecisive people. :p

haha. That’s like if a fishing lure yelled out in fishspeak, "Hey I taste really bad, and I’ll stick a hook in your lip!... but you should sooo still eat me."

Calm down its not like the whole market is here. Two, hes just trying to hook up a young and comer. It makes sense hook up a kid early and if he makes it he might come back.

or you could do it for a rate and hopefully establish a good relationship where the guy would want to promote you. Trust me, you do a good enough job your inbox is going to flood with job requests without the advertising.

    Hey,

If your looking for a website be careful who you pick. Do a lot of comparison shopping. Then throw all of them out and start over. Web designers are notorious for wanting to make a living, but occasionally you will find someone who does it on the side for the right price.

wow, lets make a broad statement with that one. The reason web prices seem high is because of how much work goes into them there is a lot more work than just drawing out something (not knocking shirt designers at all! I do that as well). But on any given website there could be anywhere from 3-5 languages used + a custom content management.

Sorry if I sound kinda pissy about that but its basically the same thing as me saying people with backpacks for icons want to make a living at something they have worked their whole life towards... greedy bastards. Whats wrong with wanting to make a living? I for one don’t want to work 12+ hour days for 6-7 days a week for the rest of my life.

Sure, always play it safe but more times than not a quote from an agency is pretty competitive with market standards.

No joke man! I can’t even count how many web programming languages I have learned in my several years of doing this just to get up to speed with web design, not to mention attempting to keep current with how fast web development changes technology.

Once again, not knocking any clothing designers or anything but to create a shirt it will either be photoshop or illustrator... and it will pretty much always be that way. Hence how the rates on graphic design is always less than web design.

I mean, just today alone I worked with: photoshop, flash, ajax, css, javascript, mysql, and php.... thats why the rate of web work is a little more expensive, not to mention if you want a fully dynamic website.

Agreed. But I have seen some web designers whose prices are a tad high as well, and they can’t code to save their grandma’s. Then there’s the guys who figured out how to use dreamweaver in 2 days and decided to be a web designer. So choosing the right designer for the right price can be hard on the general public as well.

Thats true of any industry, and it is pretty easy to tell who’s prices are justified and who’s are not. All I want to get across is just because someone charges what sounds like a high amount to some guy you found on myspace you are usually getting a pretty good deal for some quality work.
