Banksy makes cover of Science

posted 6 months ago by Aniast

So I get my copies of Science magazine about a month late for some reason. Anyway, was looking at the one I got today and Banksy’s art was on the cover.

It was there because of an article titled, "Antisocial Punishment Across Societies."

They said it was from November 2007.

So I read the article and I’m not really sure how the two are related.

He is on the cover to sell the magazine.
I went to Banksy’s first ever 'show' in
london and apparently I spoke to him but
he didn’t tell me who he was. My friend is
    good friends with him.

Right, because people who read Science really know about Banksy.

Science has a cover price of $10. Don’t know how much it helps. The reason it makes the cover beyond being pleasing to the eye is:

"Human behavior that would be characterized as antisocial punishment can also be called art; prosocial institutions, most notably the campaign Keep Britain Tidy, refer to Banksy’s work as vandalism."

Then the article is all game theory.

    (I’m a big fucking nerd.)

The dude’s art is (in my eyes) boring, trite and shallow. But as a businessman and marketer I can only take my hat off to him. He’s got it down.
