Hey guys, I've been working on my personal site for what seems to me like way too long and I've kinda hit a standstill. Skullface and Mr. Alexcampbellstomatosoup have already given me some great feedback, but I figured I'd throw myself to the wolves so to speak, as I know you guys will be brutally honest ( It's why I love ya ;) Nevermind the fact that I'm no web guru, just let me have it: what could I do better? Dude, thanks for all the feedback. Also, I want to make the doodles/moleskine thing in flash and give it a more streamlined page flipping effect. Once its done they'll be a description of each piece and its inspiration on the left page. What's there now is pretty much a concept placeholder. Don't make people dig for it. Either in a large example of it or several examples. You need to grab them by the balls as quickly as possible and make them want more. My biggest design crit is the font and color of the menu. It's really bland and that purple color does not scream illustrator/designer to me, it's more like what a psychic or like new age holistic medicine site would have. I know you were matching with the color of your logo, but you gotta change the purple. Use a sans serif and maybe white or gray. Same for the intro paragraph, just go black. I just figured, since I don't know off top what the end user will be after ( example wise ) a good landing page would be an artist bio of sorts.
