Getting shirts printed.

posted 5 months ago by captiveclothing

Do you guys usually order ALL your shirts at once, then pay the screen fees and the color changes?

Like example. If i order 40 shirts, they are 5.00 a shirt, but if i order 150 shirts....they are obviously much less. So do you usually order the 150 and have them split between your designs to get the cheaper rate per shirt? Or will print shops not go for that kinda stuff?

When you order a low amount such as 40 your screen/setup costs are what makes the job more.

If you order multiple designs they all use different screens so that doesn’t really help.

I see what your saying. Im trying to find a good place with no screen fees. I got my last shirts from Mammoth, and some were good, and others...not so much. The inks cracked after 1 wash.

Yeah screen fees are just all part of it, if you find a place with no screen fees then their prices are going to be high to balance it all out.

why dont you ask the printers? There arent really that many good printers in the uk. use jimmy - FULL STOP.

uk printers: dont understand trends, styles, need for huge screen sizes, need for low cost and generally dont give a fuck- usually still stuck in the mind set of printed bullet proof one colour a4 chest prints for shitty companies.

Jimmy: what do i need to say- they guys knows his shit.

and the states have been economically raped by bush and his gang- so even including shipping its still cheap as fuck.

it worked out 15p cheaper per shirt to get them done with Jimmy than with any other tee company I could find in the UK.

just out of curiosity, did you contact them about it? several of my clients print through mammoth and i’ve never heard a complaint about quality.

This was like a year ago, and some of them were ok. and some were bad.

Mammoth is great cause they do not have screen fees.

did you have to pay for VAT, import duty etc?
Im not too bothered about the shipping time so getting it from the US makes sense...

the only problem iv found if you use the likes of UPS if the costs of the items is over £20 they just double the price of it so my last sample tee I got them the states was a DTG print of 4 tees whic was £25 in total customs wanted £20.

But ive had large boxes deliverd through standard post for 40 or 50 tees and had no cumstoms problems - so I just use standard land mail and not quick air mail
