I HATE saying that because this site is probably the biggest reason I'm doing what I do now. When I started coming here about a year and a half ago it was hardcore about tees and tee design. Not all designs posted were great but they weren't completely awful (or at least were rarely completely awful) but there was ALWAYS constructive criticism. I just feel that it's become a place to promote your label (does everyone but me have a label now?), look for cheap designers and post up shirts as "finished" when they're barely more than a quick sketch. This isn't a knock on the guys who run this site or anything. I'm just bummed when I come here. Sure, there's still great tee designs but there's also a ton of trolls and other garbage. It's just changed a lot and not necessarily in a good way. It's a shame. As for the tees section, I have been trying to post criticism, as per Derek Deals thread. I haven't really seen much participation from the emptees heavy-hitters though. Lots of people are all about complaining that emptees sucks in a thread, but they're not taking the time to post a rad thread, or offer criticism, or tell an out-of-line noob that they need to practice before they post garbage in the tees section. Anyway, I'll continue to try to support what makes this place awesome when I can. It's really hard to do it a lot due to the volume of shirts being posted. I used to critique a lot but people would get so bent out of shape. Some people just want to hear how great they are and as soon as someone throws them a negative they get all defensive. Honestly, what always attracted me to this site is the fact that someone with little to no rep out there could come and showcase their work amongst some of the most talented people in the industry. Some people take advantage of that, others abuse the shit out of it. As the site grows in popularity, you're gonna get the trolls, the hacks, the wannabe's, etc. It's pretty much inevitable. What would kill it tho, is not the arrival of those types on the scene, but rather the departure of the industry types and genuinely talented and devoted up and comers because of them. Don't let a few kids and internet attention whores ruin such a wonderful thing. Yeah, one could argue that it's just a forum.
