Arial is crap! Microsoft paid some illegitimate designer to create it because Bill Gates didn't want to pay for a full license of Helvetica on Windows. Bill did the same thing with Segoe for vista, it's a knock of Frutiger. I hate Microsoft.
On a lighter note delete comic sans from your computer and download this font <a href="http://www.hvdfonts.com/freefonts.php">HVD Comic Serif</a> It's much better ....I promise. :)

Helvetica is in no way the best typeface out there. It's reasonably well drawn but you're far better off using the original Aksidenz or going one better and getting Univers, especially the new opentype version which is superb.
