I'm starting with this audiobook:
Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions for good audiobooks or podcasts for French or languages in general (I could stand to get my Japanese and Mandarin back, and I was great at German in high school), let's do it.
PS - the last time I took French was in elementary school, and my teacher's name was Madame Dick. No joke.

Mandarin and Japanese are supposed to be two of the toughest languages to learn, and I did them both for years and lived in both countries, and I did Latin in high school, so I've got high hopes.

oh word? thanks! I don't have much free time for a tutor right now, though - I'm mainly looking for something to occupy my brain at work since I am the screen tech at the print shop and basically just work on my own all day.

I'm learning Mandarin right now and I've found Pimsleur to be of great help. You're probably already familiar with it, but yeah... Awesome audio-learning method.

sweet, I've seen plenty of Pimsleur stuff but never given it a shot...all my language training was intense university classes/immersion/etc. xie xie!

Yeah, it's very practical learning. I also like chinesepod, which is a language learning podcast that's super helpful in getting colloquial stuff down. They probably have something similar for French.

PS - sorry - I don't have chinese input on here - I haven't even reinstalled my Japanese keyboard settings. I'm lucky that I understood that simple sentence, though - I used to be fully conversational, but not having to use it for five years has rendered me pretty impotent (ONLY IN TERMS OF THE MANDARIN LANGUAGE, LADIES).

yay. i like when characters render properly and not as garbage...
im starting to get a little into biblical hebrew. it give a nice lyrical quality to the old testament and is a lot of fun.

i've heard good things about Rosetta stone. havent tried it yet, sill trying to figure out what language i want to learn. brushing up on spanish would be the most practical, but i think japanese or italian would be the most fun.

I learned a bunch of spanish from this columbian dude I worked at McDonalds with in highschool. Most of the words that I learned were curses, though. Either that, or how to tell someone to wash the dishes. It was amazing.

Rosetta stone all the way. I have wanted to secretly learn French for so long since I already pretty much speak Spanish and it would be pretty easy. I wish I could afford rosetta stone

The same company launched FrenchPod a month ago, using the same method and providing entertaining content.

French is one of the most complicated language. The grammar is sooooooo weird.
Je parle français tout les jours...but decided to learn english for my...ex-girlfriend.
