I know it’s another shirt competition, but this one is different!!

Sup everybody!! I’m one of the co-founders of DesiredHearts.com, a new voting based site that is in the process of launching. We know we aren’t the first the first site where the members decide what goes to print, but we are the first to have a user created clothing line. We’re starting out with t-shirts, and as sales increase we will start producing custom designed garments of all types.

The details: Each winning designer is awarded $500 cash, $5 per shirt, and $2 per sale will go to a charity of the customer’s choice. Pretty sweet. We have to start small with a print run of 300, but it will grow over time so you can make quite a bit more $. If you do the math, it’s up to $2,000 for you and $600 for charity for a sold out design! We think it’s a good idea.

There are no limitations on what you can submit. We can print just about any style with any ink. All over prints need to be 1-2 colors, but everything else can be up to 8 spot colors. We can also do four color process prints.

Our site isn’t live yet, but if you visit desiredhearts.com you can sign up for our newsletter and updates. We need submissions for the initial launch. We will pick the launch shirts but all other submitted designs will go into the voting forum when the site launches in about a month.

Illustrator files are preferred, but jpg are fine for now. At least 150 dpi please.

We are super excited to share some really kick ass art on some kick ass clothes with some kick ass people.

    I’ve been helping Matt prepare the Desired Hearts brand and it’s been one hell of an experience. As a 24 year old graphic designer/creative director, I’m excited to be a part of such an amazing industry and an amazing idea. Here are a few things I felt like explaining or elaborating on because they are HUGE bonuses:

    1. Each "round" of shirts will get printed in a quarterly promotional brochure that is sweet as hell AND printed on recycled fibers! The winning designer’s name, URL and other info will be printed within the brochure. It’s a good way for Desired Hearts to share the love and it can help designers gain an even bigger rep.

    2. Each winning "round" of shirts will be shot by a professional photographer. Again, Desired Hearts is sharing the love by promoting each product individually and in an extremely high quality manner.

    3. This isn’t like the other sites .. this is a fashion label built by the people, for the people. Desired Hearts is focused on high-quality visual appeal across all communication touchpoints, especially the products being sold. An example of this is the custom packaging for product delivery. Desired Hearts understands that it goes beyond just buying a product .. it’s the experience that matters most. This again is a huge bonus for designers.

    4. As DesiredHearts.com grows in size, we plan to build a Job Bank to continuously promote the winning designers .. again .. Showing the love!

    5. Matt has a team of 5 developers and 3 designers who will continue to improve upon the website, brand loyalty and the satisfaction of the community and customers.

    6. Desired Hearts is giving to charity. It’s not happening as some sort of sales pitch .. it’s a group of people who care about the world around them while sharing a love for the finer things.

    7. More than anything else, Matt respects the hell out of designers. That alone is motivating myself and the rest of the team to make the best site we possibly can.

    Thanks again for everyones interest!! I can’t wait to rock the sick designs created by the Desired Hearts community.
