Yesterday I went to the MoCCA Art Fest in NYC - it's a big indie comics extravaganza, and I ended up having a blast and making new friends and buying a million great books. I'm doing a big post on my own blog, but I thought I'd share this with everyone.
Michel Gondry was there, and there was like NO LINE to go talk to him (he was selling a comic he'd done, as was his son), so I bought his book and got it signed by him and said I was stoked to meet him, etc etc.
Anyway, he drew people in their books for them, though he would occasionally draw himself. Here is what he thinks I look like:

Apparently I am a fat mutant, which I can live with. For some reason he neglected to draw my mustache, but I can't complain - though maybe that's the thicker line above my mouth?
For the record, he is just as nice and not of this world as you'd expect.

From what I've seen him in interviews and stuff, his english is really tough to understand. Was that your experience?

no, but our conversation was very limited - me complimenting him, telling him I was so glad he was there, introducing myself - he basically just shook my hand and thanked me and then started drawing me. Then he showed me his son's comic, which I also bought.
