Hey guys! So this week's theme is "The Ultimate Summer Shirt"...the idea was to have a shirt design that you would pick as your favorite shirt for the summer. So it doesn't have to be sunshines and beach balls whatsoever. It's been a slow week for submissions...sometimes I guess we just come up with themes that are either too difficult or not exciting enough. It happens, and we learn from our experience and move on. BUT what I'm getting at is this week is PRIME for you guys to swoop in and steal the $500 prize! We're looking through the Emptees tees now and will be contacting artists directly, but if you have anything at all that you think would fit this week's theme, submit that sucker! What's the best way to approach it? I guess I could have a button or link that gives you the option to sort the submissions chronologically or by "popularity"...then it's just a matter of defining what popularity means. Do early entries actually receive fewer votes than later ones? You'd expect it to be the opposite. If it's really that bad, a potential solution could be a specially marked first row on the front vote page containing a set of random-with-each-pageload entries? And yes Omni, early entries actually do get *more* comments and votes...of course we normalize all that through fancy mathematics in the end. I agree with your concerns as well...my biggest concern is inadvertently giving someone the ability to abuse the system to make their design #1 on the list.
