Stupid Question of the Day: Domain Re-Directing

posted 5 months ago by MykeCatastrophic

I’m trying to get my domain (Http://www.catastrophicclothing.com) to automatically re-direct to my BigCartel online store domain (http://catastrophicclothing.bigcartel.com). How do I make that happen?

By the way, I am using GoDaddy, if that helps.

    Well I’ve already bought my domain and I’ve been using GoDaddy’s free hosting plan, but I want to change that. Where would I find the FORWARD part that you’re talking about?

    If I understand well you want your domain name to point to your new hosting plan?

    If yes you have to look under your old domain control panel and change the name servers to the new ones. It should look something like the example below and it takes from 24 up to 48 hours for the change to take effect.

    name servers: ns1.myhostingcompany.com
    name servers: ns2.myhostingcompany.com

    Make a index.php page on your hosting plan...

    Make this the content;

    <?php header('Location: http://catastrophicclothing.bigcartel.com'); ?>
