naw not really, designs like that have been around forever, just because there are some similarities doesnt mean the manticores are going to rip you a new asshole haha
I hope not haha
Ive known Marky and the dudes at GK since they were selling shirts at the local shows down the street from me.
The last thing I need is people to think I am ripping him off.

Very nice! That should be awesome. Before I moved to Charlotte, I was living in Vernon but was closer to everything in Warwick.
Marky always comes out with good shit. I just wished there was less black colored shirts. It seems his previous lines have had more colored shirts. Still love it though.
Ive created a design for their range but its now been bumped to the fall line. Im a little worried about the likelihood of that coming through, since its a while off but lets stay optimistic :)

that black shirt with space looks like shit, on the zoom you can see the mess ups, then on the sleeves of one of the sub belt prints, looks mega shitty. and the ufo one is a rockett rip. just took out the girl and drew ufos instead of ghosts. MEHHHHHH still every shirt has those stupid glasses

Im not a fan of that brand. It looks like trendy, gonna look stupid in 6 months, designs. But whatever. Theyre doing something right. Guess Im just out of touch.
Im the screen manager at american icon, so Ive been staring at the films for some of this stuff for weeks.
my concern is just how long they can push the "youre not the same as everyone else, why should your clothing be any different" slogan when everyone in AP and everywhere else is d-riding them.
that said, I like Mark a lot and he does good work for his audience. some of it I even really like, but generally its not my bag.

Say what you will about their designs...theyre obviously doing something right.
when you have thousands to throw to bands to wear your shit and to buy trailers for and basically bribe their way into things, I believe anyone can accomplish anything with the right money.
I would never ever give my bands money to wear my stuff, either you like it or you dont. But Im not going to pay you to wear my stuff, give me a break. I also get cocky when you say THEY, when hell its just "ME"

Note: Im pretty sure I say the word "dude" in about every post I make on emptees.
I agree with all of the above..... except for the dude part!
GK goes above and beyond to achieve some of the most massive prints I have seen and if any of you guys ripping it knew how hard it was to get perfect belt sub prints then you may appreciate it a little more....
go GK, and keep it rockin! PS I want one of those UFO shirts!!!!
ACTUALLY...it is "they." Ive talked to than one person dealing with things.
Look...All Im saying man is that his target audience is mostly not people on emptees (19-29 yr old mostly dudes sitting around talking about shirts) Im well then aware of your personal preference on the brand homie, but truth be told you are also not the guy buying it. and thats cool.
BTW. I would love to see that shirt actually. Only if my face was on it. ;)
Can we do one for EZ one were you photoshop me into lurch?
Fueled By Caleb said:his target audience is mostly not people on emptees (19-29 yr old mostly dudes sitting around talking about shirts)
I have to agree with Caleb. Im not a 12-16 yr old kid sitting around on facebook talking about glamour kills.. so I dont quite get their style. But kudos for making their brand.
derekdeal said: i can understand why this stuff would be popular, even if it isnt my thing.
the flying pig is kind of a weak branding effort in my opinion though. just seems cutesy and lame.
Amen. I just think of Pink Floyd when I see that pig.
Even though his style might not be everyones favorite, hes done one of the best jobs of establishing a target market and doing everything to reach out to that market. The fans of the bands he sponsors are for the most part 13-18 year old and his designs reflect their tastes.
I have a similar style to GK as far as colors and demographic goes for the most part, except I wouldnt say my work is as loose as Markys designs.
For me to really appreciate the designs of others I need to see traditional artwork done by them.
Hence the reason I am on here a ton getting inspired by the work Ive seen. Its pushing my ass to stop taking the easy way out with all vector-based designs and start challenging myself with illustration.
even if you dont like their stuff, its not your style and whatnot, which is what a lot of people say about johnny cupcakes too, you gotta admit theyre doing really well. theyre one of the big tee companies out there and sure their market is 13-17 year old kids but at least they can sell their stuff

holy moly! u are very sadly misinformed.... never bought a band a trailer, all our bands wear glamour kills cause they want to (they dont recieve paychecks from us when they where them. we are honest good people who make a product that people enjoy... and some people dont and that is totally cool. just wanted to clarify that for everyone and please note that shirt wasnt a rockett rip (who i admire as a company very much) but an ode to the greatest television show on earth, any questions email me for sure and ill tell you or give any advice i can mark@glamourkills.com
its like 85 % type tees and that pigs fly shirt in different colors. Thats a lot of shirts with words on them. But at least he is moving lots of product.

good to see they get their stuff manufactured now i guess and i like to see they push things but i wouldnt wear one of these shirts unless
a) i was coked up, dancing at some place with a light up dance floor and accidently dressed in the dark.
or
b) wait, id never wear this stuff and i dont do drugs, so never.
