    STFU!!!!!! I worked there for two years!!! I freaking loved it! If you came into my TJF I would have made you a meal that was so good you would seen heaven! That place rocks! You prob went to the nasty ass Downtown or OBT one...EW!

    i went to this awwwful place in Dayton, Ohio when i went down for a house show- called Hot Heads. A ripoff of all the places mentioned, haha. seriously, worst place ever. jalapeños tasted like steel.

    I live right down the street from a Mexican Restuarant that is actually owned and ran by Mexicans!

    I haven’t had Qdoba yet, but between Chipotle and Moes, I say CHIPOTLE!

    Keep in mind that I don’t eat meat, so Moe’s may have better tasting beef/chicken/whatever for all I know. But the vegetarian fajita burrito is where it’s at.

    in 2006 my band did an entire US tour and the ONLY thing i ate was mexican food. even at the shitty rest stops i managed to find something mexican. the list is long but it includes...

    -taco bell
    -moe’s
    -chipotle
    -qdoba
    -baja fresh
    -del taco
    -mema’s alaskan tacos (tampa)
    -taco john’s
    -armadillo grill
    -taco bueno
    -tijuana flats
    -mex and the city (ny)
    & countless other individualy owned resturaunts (the best of which in LA)

    so i know my shit!

    after all that, i still cannot get enough of one place...

    SAN LOCO!! there are about 4 locations in NYC and 1 in Miami (weird)
    everything about this place is awesome, the price, the sauce, the selection, just fucking totally rad. get some! www.sanloco.com

    what makes a good mexican place for me is an excellent salsa bar. this place on haight st. in san francisco called el balazo has like 10 quality salsas that you can dump all over your nachos, the best being this yummy cross between a guacamole and super hot green sauce.

    been there, booya! they were pretty good, but i don’t think they are the best. one thing i did appreciate about this place if i remember correctly is they have very tight locking individual bathrooms which is extra important for mexican restaurants. you never know when you might need some privacy for an epic ass-blast.
