<body>I know it's spec work, but I see a lot of good cheap designs for sale today. Rather then lower the price and hope they will sell. Put them in a contest and win some good money?
Do people have something against contest or you just want quick money?</body>

<body>Contests are not necessarily spec. Contests that call for specific designs are spec. IE, the Kiss contest on DBH is spec. Subbing to the general contest on DBH or Threadless is not spec. Etc.

The line is getting blurier. The AIGA's recent pronouncements on spec basically throw designers under the bus too.

Go with your conscience and fuck it.

DRAW SOME GODDAMN SHIRTS.</body>

      <body>ALL design contests are spec...

Imagine having a clothing company when you get hundreds of designers to send you artwork for free and you only have to pay for the ones you like...</body>

<body>i dont see the wrong in throwing in some old designs that have been laying around. i do it every now and then if i am not feeling lazy.. it isnt like you are giving them designs and you can sell the designs if someone ever wanted to buy it at anytime... </body>

<body>First off: CONGRATS newman this is great news! High spirits!

Secondly: I totally agree with your statement. I know ShirtFight would *LOVE* to get everyone's designs, and we really try our best to keep the themes open enough so you won't end up making a design that can't be sold to someone else. For example, this week is "design whatever you want as long as it is on a black or navy blue tshirt". What's the harm in submitting your stuff laying around?

Also note that we only hold on to your design for one week...once the contest is over, you get the rights back! Spiffy, eh?

I think you folks should actually submit to ShirtFight first before you do Threadless and DBH because of this reason *wink wink* :)</body>

<body>congrats man! I do submit to contests when I can, the problem is, they never win (in my case). But that wont make me want to lower my price. I'll just stick with it until someone likes it enough to buy it. however long that may take.</body>
