what about reversing the colors? like an "asphalt" ink on black shirt? Or perhaps creme on a brown shirt?

This is a fantastic design btw. We're thinking about doing a "Tattoo" theme pretty soon, I hope you sub something :D

I like brown on creme the best. Keeps with the "old timey" feel of the design. Black on asphalt looks way too dark to me. You loose a lot of the detail.

Awesome design by the way.

Hey, thanks guys...

Thanks Fuzzy ink!

Jud, I just kind of thought the style and the way I drew it out lended itself a little better to lighter tee with dark ink but I'll definitely take that into consideration. I'd have to change some things around but that wouldn't be to big of a deal to make that happen. Thanks man!

8-bit, I was thinking the same thing. The creme was my first instinct and they looked great printed at Teefury, I was just wondering if there was any value in doing something different for a the "reprint"

it was pretty large, I'm not possitive cause Teefury did it but I'm guessing around 13X17 or 15X20. It was about like this:

You should use a method called Discharge printing. When the discharge ink is used it takes the pigment out of the shirt, returning it to its natural state. It gives it more of a vintage look, kind of like the design.
Let me know if you want more info on that type of printing.

oh yeah, I think that'd look great, I'm wondering how much more expensive that is than regular plastisol ink. I'll ask about that when I get them printed. Great idea! Thanks!

Don't quote me on this, but I believe at Storenvy the difference in price for discharge is 25 cents a shirt? Really pretty minor.

You know what would be soooo nice (but expensive and not really practical) would be to go with a darker shirt like asphalt and do a silver foil, or a brown with gold foil. I don't think foil would really capture all of that lovely detail though.

if that's the case, I'll totally do discharge. Thats no bad at all! Thanks man!

Yeah, I've actually never worked with foil. It would be cool to maybe add a second color and do some little foil highlights. I wonder though, would that take away from the "manly" theme of this shirt;0)

Awesome design by the way.

I agree, although the grey on ash is nice too.
Great design!

Thanks man!

inacityapparel said: You should use a method called Discharge printing. When the discharge ink is used it takes the pigment out of the shirt, returning it to its natural state. It gives it more of a vintage look, kind of like the design.
Let me know if you want more info on that type of printing.
inacityapparel@yahoo.com

oh yeah, I think that'd look great, I'm wondering how much more expensive that is than regular plastisol ink.

Thanks litoQ and Joey

it seems to be pretty even between asphalt and creme..... hummmmm. What to do

foil is a huge cheese factor. avoid at all costs

Thank you thank you all! I think I'm about 80% sure what I'm gonna do. Although there are some really good compeling reasons to go with the creme tee, I think I'm going with black on asphalt.

1) I think more people would be willing to buy the tee.
2) Although the over all color scheme is dark, I really like how subtule the graphic works on this tee.
3) I already have one creme colored tee in my store but no asphalt
4) I've already printed this once in Creme on teefury so this is a reason for folks to buy another;0) Joking!

Thanks again all! This has been very very helpful!

mturney, yeah man... I think that may had been the case with a few folks. Creme and tans aren't popular colors as I'm finding out. Its definitely interesting seeing the trends of what sells on the site. Its hard choosing a color, If only getting limited quantities other wise I'd probably just print 2 different colors.
