What annoys the shit out of me is the fact that I can't scroll through blending modes or fonts in photoshop using my arrow keys. This is SOOO annoying...
i don't like that the mousepad on macbooks doesn't have a left and right click button, just a left click. so then you have to press control + click to right click.
buuut to solve that i just plug a mouse in ... so ... no real complaints from me.
Leopard's Finder is crap. Every single time I restart I have to redo all of my view options which is terribly annoying. Tiger always saved my prefs and never changed them so I don't see how they got that wrong.

Other than that, no other problems for me.
That's odd. I don't have that problem.
I hate hate hate the Spotlight in Leopard. It's borderline useless.

You don't?! Both my Macbook and my Imac running Leopard have this problem. I'd really like to try and figure out why it does this. I like to have different folders in different views (list, icon, etc) and even if I check the "Always Open in Icon View", after a restart it all ends up back in List view. Or it shows up in icon view but the icons are set to the smallest size.

yeah...it has two buttons...you just have to program it to left and right click because the default setting is single button.

Yes! that is so freakin annoying. There has got to be a fix to that. I always used to scroll through fonts to get a live preview of what it looks like instead of just looking at the font name thumbnail.
On the other hand, the touchpad on my MackBook Pro is amazing! The two finger scrolling is so addicting.

if you use the up and down keys it lets you scroll through them... my only complaint is the price, and bull shit apple care. If something breaks because its shitty no matter if its after a year or not they should replace it at cost.

Absolutely!....also changing fonts on the fly with the arrow keys in illustrator....
is the same as the spinning hourglass of death in windows, its just more hypnotizing.
I find the bouncy icons in my dock when anything happens, annoying.
I didnt know about the right click on the trackpad...
I have no complaints, other than price. But I'll never go back to a PC

You can select fonts that way, but not get a live preview of the text actually changing as you scroll.

Also, Mac "geniuses" are douche bags.
damn, you can't? I love doing that, sounds like it'll lead to more wasted time.
From my experience with them? The mighty mouse. It sucks so hard, I'll just keep my logitech.
edit: oh and the no background in photoshop. It looks cool at first, but clicking out of your canvas makes the program disappear. I hear you can fix that, though, right?
I love pretty much everything about my Apple computers. Apple owns my life BUT I have one problem and I don't know why they don't change this. I want to be able to drag a file over the finder icon in the dock and have it open. How hard is that? I don't want to drag it to the hd icon on the desktop. It's a small annoyance, but it's always bothered me.

It's a fun game to play on a PC to see how many days you can go without getting one.
I'm going a couple of years now without seeing the BSOD. I forget about it until someone talks about how often windoze gets BSOD LOL.
The thing I hate about Macs is they're overpriced and underpowered compared to what I can get building a standard desktop PC.
They do look nice though, they always outsexy a PC.

Double Click...
haha no. I don't think you know what I'm talking about. I should have clarified what the 'it' that should be opening is.
If there is a file on your desktop, you can't drag it over the Finder icon in the dock and have THE FINDER open. You can do it with folders you put in the dock, or for your main or any external hds on the desktop. I have a few friends who hate it too. It's really a small annoyance.
Usually you can option-command-esc and force quit your way out of that... usually.

If it's not saving some preferences, it sounds like it could be a permissions issue..? Or a cache issue. You may as well clean out your and your system's caches, because you should be doing it every month or two anyway (it'll run a little slower at first until it refills the cache but then should be faster than before). You can find the caches in HD>Library>Caches and HD>Users>[user]>Library>Caches. Just trash both cache folders, I promise it won't break anything. And for the permissions, try running Disk Utility (Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility), click the drive you want, and then 'Repair Permissions'. It's good to do that every once in a while, too. Would love to hear if this fixes your problem!
when you accidently click on the wrong program in the dock! and it always has to be the bulkiest longest-to-load program that you click on...but if you catch the "force quit" in time there's no problem.
other than that mac's rule...have a 24" iMac and MBP and i've been happy with both!

Good suggestion! Didn't help with my preferences however, but it was worth a shot. This problem has been happening since the day I turned the imac on for the first time. I had searched about it before on macrumors.com but I can't find the thread I found then, which didn't contain an answer anyway. But at least I'm not the only one with this problem.
