Ok, back to art related subjects and not 14 yr old boys talking shit on this website. I just finished my painting for the HELLBOY ll art show at UberBot in Winter Park, FL. It's tonight from 7-10pm. I busted my ass this week on the painting and I'm pretty happy how it turned out. Here are some fancy pics of the time consuming process of painting in acrylics. Yikes! I know it's no Dark Knight but I'll take what I can get. HA!

Liquitex BASICS acrylic paints. It's pretty much the lowest quality you can get. I should probably start getting better ones. HA! It would probably make it a lot easier to paint.

Totally, I think that's why I'm having trouble with the purple. It takes away from the red. If it doesn't sell then I will re-do the background. I'm thinking dark blue.

i dont think you even need to do that cuz the contrast is perfect on the back end. Maybe just build up some darker values under neath the fingers and thumb, and intensify the highlights.
but whatevs, i feel weird critiquing when ive only done like two paintings ever
