Ugmonk logo concepts - Updated

My newest logo concept:

--------------------

Here are a few quick logo concepts for my new brand "Ugmonk." Thanks for the input everyone. I am in the very beginning stages of establishing my branding/logo, but I wanted to get some feedback from everyone.

My brand will be very similar to the style of tees in my profile: clean, vector, geometric, designs. I am probably going to incorporate some typography tees as well.

    one or four!
I think I'd like four the best if I understood the significance of the water droplet

Actually I changed my mind. I just looked at the work you've posted on Emptees and judging by your style #2 suits your line best.

But as said below I'd fix the kerning a bit.

#2 but you need to work on your kerning. It looks a little too smashed, specifically the m,o & n.

Thanks. Seems pretty divided so far. Like I said, these are just my first quick concepts, so if they need more tweaking or I can scrap these and come up with other logos.

Does #2 remind anyone else of the buzznet logo? It kind of has that vibe too it. I think that one is the best.

none of them particularly scream "ugmonk" to me, if that makes any sense, but of the four I like 1 the best

  18. Tee shirt designer cbass99 - cbass99

sheldon, 2 looks too much like a lot of these "green" companies that are forming. Look here about half way down for the "leaf" design trends 2008. I like 4 the best. It would be cool to see if you could get all of the letters cut somehow like you have the N and K.
1 is nice too. Anyway, good job.

Thanks for all the feedback! It's definitely good to bounce these ideas off of someone else.

I think I will push these a little further and maybe come up with a few more. I am not completely satisfied with any of them yet. I am trying to be very picky in these early branding stages, so I don't end up hating my logo in a few months.

for your current style of tees you've uploaded i'd def. go w/ 2...but i kinda like 1.

since most like 1,2, and 4, i think you should elaborate more on them and see what comes out.

As you have it right now #2 is the strongest. I think the first is cool without the box! But like sandlin said kepp playing with it they will only get better!

I challenge you to come up with something better than Ugmonk. It definitely stands out like everyone has said but saying it out loud (and with consumer pride for that matter) is difficult.
But in any case I'd push the typography like you did with number 4 by sheering bits off or knocking shapes out of the 'O'. But since Ugmonk doesn't mean shit it's kind of hard to figure the best way to go about that. Maybe change the spelling to UGMUNK. All the letters are similar except the O which, to me, throws off the balance of the type. Change it to a U and you've got continuity and consistency with that font.

Thanks everyone. Your input is very helpful.

I do like #2 but I am feeling that the leaf shape may be a little to mainstream and overused for a logo right now. I use that shape in some of my designs, but I think for a logo I want to steer away from that and have something a little more unique.

I understand what you are saying, but I am going to stick with "Ugmonk" and maybe experiment with a "u" instead of an "o."

I didn't just use a standard typeface, I drew the letters in Illustrator.
