Tablet cleaning 101.

posted 4 months ago by Master_Control

Anyone have useful tips for cleaning your beloved Wacoms?

All of that tiny tiny persperation from working ends up making my tablet a little sticky and it doesn’t flow well. Pretty much unavoidable with how hot it is around here.

Anyone have the same problem? How did you deal with it?

Just use a damp towel or something.

I didn’t know if you had to worry about water issues.

I use alcohol wipes, the same as for laptop screens. work pretty well.
anyone know how to fill a hole in a wacom? somehow mine got a little chip in it, and my nib gets stuck and ruins my lines, i tried filling it with super glue, but it kind of over ran. and now it’s fallen off.

You need to water the super glue down. Put a little in the crack and let it dry. Then put a little more on and let it dry. Once it is dry take a razor blade and with EVEN pressure across the blade, scrape the excess off. Then just get some fine wet/dry sand paper and wet sand where you put the super glue. After that you should be all set. I use this method quite a bit when repairing small nicks and surface imperfections on guitars.

It shouldn’t hurt the tablet. All the sensors are in the housing, not in the plastic that you write on.

I use the cloth that came with my imac, the same one that comes with the iphone as well, works perfectly, no liquids needed.

Avoid having to clean it FTW.

PS - That’s not my hand. I still need to make my own Care Bears glove.
