depends on the detail, style, company, usage, exclusivety etc.
so it varies for me, while others charge a flat rate no matter what, while others let the client determine the price.
i always ask "what sort of budget are we working with" or "what sort of budget do you have dedicated to each design?" and then usually work up from there.
So essentially, see what theyre minimum would be and contrast it with what I think is a reasonable price? I dont really know what a reasonable flat rate is either seeing how Im new to this.
well try for higher than what you think is reasonable. 3 things will happen:
1. They will accept your rate.
2. They wont reply or ever talk to you again.
3. They will try and negotiate you down, and since you started higher than what you wanted, you have a little room to negotiate.
When it comes to an actual price though, only you can determine that. Try throwing out some numbers to potential clients and see what sort of feedback you get. Its really just a matter of getting a feel for things and seeing where the market is at.
I personal dont give out my prices publicly on a forum, I know some artists that do, some that dont.
As a starting artist though, you can aim for $100-$400 per design, I think thats reasonable, I dont know things were different back when I started, good designers were hard to come by.
