Digital Music Creation

posted 4 months ago by Nate

Yo yo yiggity yo!

So I kinda have this need to try and make music. Give it ONE good shot, you know? I keep really good rhythm but have never partaken in any lessons for any instrument. I know a lot of emptee’ers are in bands...

Does anyone know about any awesome books to read on how to start? Maybe not a book, but maybe just a resource? I would want to record it with Garage band, using direct input and a mic.

I was thinking about buying a simple Akai MPC to accompany a keyboard I have been messing around with lately.

I don’t even know if there is any other equipment I need to get going. Something like a sound board or can you do all that digitally?

Help a brother out. I almost feel like I need "an idiots guide to start making music" or something of the sort. Hopefully I don’t need that, because if I see anyone with those books, I feel instant pity for them.

fuck you i want a microkorg...

    that is my baby.

anywho if you need any help with garageband feel free to get at me

I usually can figure it out

I use my baby with Garageband, Ableton Live and Logic Pro (which is still confusing to me...)

it sounds like you’re all set if you’ve got the right wires, other than that go for it man.

I’m thinking about selling my microkorg, played it only like 10 times. If anyone wants it give me an offer, just keep in mind they go for $400 new, and this is basically new.

MICROKORGS ARE THE BEST INSTRUMENT EVER BUILT.. ALMOST.. HAHA

Well, I PLay In 3 bands.. one Industrial band, i play the microkorg there, and congas ofc. The other is A metalcore band, where i play drums, and the last one is a pure rock n roll band, where i also play drums...

and i am recording a demo with tha last band now, and it’s going really good, but dude.. Get yourself a Duet interface if you have a mac.. The inputs ON the mac really sucks and the quality is not good..
