well my buddy knows the guy who booked the show but he said he doesnt know

man i think it would be rad to do it
so much promotion and maybe talk to one of the bands about wearing some shirts or something

    that would kill

wear one of them massive trench coats and have your shirts placed inside of them, during the bands playing, offer kids great deals. you get to watch the band, sell shirts, meet kids AND make money

    simple

not to be a debby downer but it’s most likely not happening. just from experience, at major shows they don’t want anyone selling merch but the bands.

stephens right, i used to try all the time when i first started and it was nearly impossible.

make friends with bands or be a sponsor.
don’t think this is happening either unless there is some sort of previous relationship

well the reason i thought i might have a chance is because my good buddy knows the booker and he always hooks me up with guess list passes and everything so im hoping he hooks me up this time

yah, you need to speak with the promoter, I book shows occasionally and have had people ask to sell their stuff at my shows. Don’t give up but chances are slim!

    ps
Try talking to the promoter and offering some sort of incentive

Most bands won’t be excited about this idea because for every sale you would make that would be one less for them. It’s all about the bottom line for most people. At the end of the day, it’s just business for most.

yeah, you definitely will not be able to do this for free.

i screen print posters for shows and some bands don’t even like you selling them at the show even though the poster you made probably brought in a ton more people.

if you get down with the promoter you might be able to PAY for a spot to advertise and give stuff away, not sell. and that could still be pretty awesome for you.

  18. levi! - Word! avatar

    that would be awesome

im not getting my hopes up

even if i dont get it, im going and gonna sell to people in the line to get in

last time underoath played here, the line was like 2 blocks so im sure that i could hustle some sales from them

    not guna happen.
only tour you could sling at is taste of chaos
besides warped and bamboozle type of events

  22. levi! - Word! avatar

    levi! said 3 months ago

well at the venue i go to almost on a daily basis lets me sell no matter what tour it is

but the owner is a good friend so thats the deal

but im just hoping somehow i get in

ima try everyday till the last day to get ahold of somebody

this would promote the poop out of the line so i gotta atleast try

thats awesome your trying so hard. idk how it is out in texas, but in new jersey selling at shows can be a real pain. i mean i used to sell at tons of local shows & some semi decent size shows without paying but thats because i did a lot of show flyers. but for the bigger ones its nearly impossible. but if you can work your magic and get a slot then you shouldnt have a problem with any other shows.

  25. levi! - Word! avatar

    levi! said 3 months ago

well if you think about it

    underoath sells itself

and why would they make a stink about a small houston based line trying to sell a few shirts

they are gonna make their 5 grand in merch that night anyway

yeah, i forget what show it was, but i finally got through to someone about selling at a show, (a pretty big show @ a decent venue, underoath is headlining there in october) and they gave me a list of rules and guidelines in order to sell at the show. so they’ll probally make sure your merch is priced the same & restrict you on a lot of things. but then again underoath might have a legit management firm, and be chill about stuff.

  28. levi! - Word! avatar

    levi! said 3 months ago

yeah i mean. underoath is huge in their scene

    kids go nuts for them

they are gonna sell 5 grand of merch no matter what

i think they would be ok with letting me sell

if you think about it. the kind of fans they have are gonna buy a shirt from them, no matter what. so they already have their sales on lock down

and the kids that have a little extra can pick up a tee from me

i just hope it works out

i dont mind giving up a percentage of profit or anything

  29. scapyyy - Brandon avatar

    scapyyy said 3 months ago

yeah dude i hear ya, i really hope you can get the spot, cause that would be insane for your brand. just make sure you get a friend to go or something, so you can flyer up the lines getting into the show.

  30. levi! - Word! avatar

    levi! said 3 months ago

    thanks man

    thanks alot

ill def flyer no matter what happens

ima be out their telling every single kid in line about the brand if i dont get it

thats the way to do it my man. i finally get my liscense in november, so any show after that i can just leave flyers in my car, and as soon as the shows over or before the show flyer em up and then just ditch em in my car.

  32. levi! - Word! avatar

    levi! said 3 months ago

    what you mean your license?

But they could make $5,500 instead. Managers and others involved make a living off percentages. It may not seem like a big deal, but if it’s how I put food on my table I would not be excited about it.
