    ADTR.
It’ll save you money, and more people will be there that will like your type of clothes.

I’d go with A Day To Remember, cause it’s free... and since that’s my birthday you should sell each banana shirt with a balloon :] !!! (It’ll probably sell for the balloons haha)

which one do you think would offer the most exposure/sales wise for your company? consider all the expenses (the entry fees, gas money, hiring helpers..) surely they cant be exactly the same...

    levi! said 3 months ago

    ADTR - cost $0

    FASHION SHOW - $165

i wont hire a helper either way

and the kids will like the shirts at the show, but i can miss a good opportunity to sell to a street wear store in houston

but i would most likely sell more at ADTR

just more exposure at the fashion show

have you checked out all of the stores that might be buying stuff? do they sell clothes that fit your companys style? have you considered all of the pros and cons of selling wholsale? Do you have a spread sheet for your line?

Can you do both. I don’t know you situation and how many people you have working for you. If you can send a friend with you stuff to the show and you go to the fashion event. 165 for a table is cheap as hell. I know places that go for 1000 bucks for a small table.

I would try and do both.

you said people from stores would be there. How good of a chance do you have of getting some shirts in a store?

    My .02

    levi! said 3 months ago

    well i couldnt do both

i do all of this myself because i dont trust someone else making decision with my company

so i really couldnt do both

the only thing that is appealing to me about the fashion show is that its gonna mostly the urban crowd (african american) and that would expose my stuff to them

but i would sell more at the show because the kids there go nuts for my stuff

thats a good idea. just get a friend to do either the fashion show or the ADTR show, and you do the other, then your killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

Having sell stuff for you isn’t really them 'making decisions for your company'. Granted, it’s not ideal, but you could send somebody (or two or three; it’s always good to have help) to the show where you’ll mostly be selling merch and attend the show where you have the opportunity to meet buyers yourself. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

ADTR show= sales for the day, and possibly establishing a small following, as well as staying loyal to your supporters. (maybe more perks, just cant think of any right now)

Fashion show= Possible buyers interested in carrying your stuff which will lead to future bulk sales. Plus it will introduce your line to the fashion community. You might meet some DJ’s or other artist willing to promote your line or collaborate. If the event is big, 165 for a table is nothing. Especially if it means stores will pick up your gear.

This is a decision that is really up to you man. Thats the joy of being a business man. So many make or break decisions. If it were me, I would go to the Fashion show seems a better networking op.

well i think is a hard decision

the store that are gonna be there arent my style, but its exposure to a new crowd

and i do have a spread sheet and what not

crisis is the latin word for 'time to decide'. If you have a choice- then thats good, its when you dont have choices that its bad. you do not have a 'problem'- you have fortune and choice. Whatever you decide- have fun doooode.

    hell yeah!

its not a problem at all

its just choosing the best of 2

im thinking that ADTR will be good for me

first of all, ive been a ADTR fan since they were just a local band in florida and then i get to sell to my home people

Oh. in that case I would say stay with your crowd (seems to be at the ADTR show). Introducing your line to a new crowd is always kinda iffy. Support those who support you and use your line sheets to introduce your stuff to stores. Go with your gut feeling. I would visit CNBC The Big Idea it has alot of helpful tips to reference about business.

go to the big fashion event deal yourself, and pay a family member or friend you trust to go to the show to sell.

Honestly the stuff you have printed now isn’t going to impress any stores. I think it’s a great opportunity to meet people maybe carry some info about your company and pictures of your upcoming t-shirts but I don’t think you’re at the point where you should shell out 165 for a table.

Check it out, get your shit together, and kill it the next time it comes up.

you can’t know 100% what stores are going to like. I have seen stores carry worse design than yours(not saying your design are bad). If you sell tees at the show it will spark the stores interest. It takes half the guess work out for the stores. The ultimate goal for a store is to sell shirts. So if they know there is already intereste in the shirts they are going to be more inclined to buy.

    levi! said 3 months ago

    thing is about the show

ima going to sell quite a few shirts

i have a hype going on right now about the new line

but the fashion event will be like going in with anybody knowing my line

im looking to sell some shirts right now, and i could get even better designs and then show the stores

remember its only been 3 months that ive had the line

i dont have to be everywhere right away. im just looking to get some shirts on the backs of some of the people that dont have a shirt already in my scene

and no i cant do both

im not gonna trust somebody yet with my stuff right now

btw the line i would show the store is the line that SittingDuck, Matt Skiff, wotto, etc...designed

so i will be showing quality work no matter where i am at

at this point (i know, my brand is less than a year old as well) I would definitely do the free show. My reason for saying this is leaning towards the same reasons you’re leaning towards it-- free, lots of members of your target audience with money ready to spend on merch at a show...with no cost there isn’t much risk. Maybe if you got your foot in the door a little farther, so to speak (and this takes some time) you’d be ready to pay for a booth or table. Traffic may be businer at the festival, but look at what you’ll be up against so early in the brand’s life.

I don’t want to suggest what to do because its hard to know what kind of exposure you’d get at that festival, but lines for merch at shows, especially with bands of their stature and popularity, are always long :).

good luck at either place you decide on!!

  33. levi! - Word! avatar

    levi! said 3 months ago

    thanks man!

i think ima do the show for the main reason that i know that ima have a crowd buying shirts from me and i wanna talk to a day to remember and a crowd at my table will maybe spark some interest from them

  34. William. - William Matte, Jr. avatar

    William. said 3 months ago

that’s another good reason. if you associate with them in a business-like fashion, so to speak, their fans will associate with you and your line.

    should work out well.

also are they even going to let you sell anything at the adtr show? If you decide to go thrat route make sure you ask someone and someone who knows what they are talking about.

Just because they let you last year doesn’t mean they will this year.

    haha i sell everyshow there

i am good friends with every single staff member and they love my stuff

they even ask me to come sell sometimes

    i have 100% acceptance

    and for the fashion event

if the first year they have done it so no telling how many people

but i know suckerpunch will be there, which is huge in houston
