Florida Sucks

I’ve lived in Florida for almost 16 years now so I’ve been through quite a few hurricanes and tropical storms, but this one is just being a bitch.

I’ve been stuck in the house for 3 days and it’s starting to flood! It’s already flooded outside on the side of my place and now the water is coming up through the fucking carpet. And it’s supposed to rain for 2 more days.

   I’ve had some experience with a flooded office. You just have to make sure you get it dry as soon as possible or the smell will stick around for a while. Good luck.

   That is very true.

   I packed up all the shit in my barn too, in preparation. Not a lot of rain. Just wind, mostly.

   Though my fucking yard did flood today because my water softener had something wrong with it that I had to fix - and when I fixed it and turned it back on a PVC pipe bursted and like two hours later Cole caught it and was all, "Um, dude - there’s like water shooting up out of the ground in the back yard."

   Shit.

   Fixed that too. It cost $0.90 worth of parts at Home Depot.

    Fay’s just coming over Gainesville now I think. Just as long as there are no power outages, this’ll be nothing more than an annoying rain storm here. ugghhh but I hate all this rain at any rate.

    Losing power is the only thing that worries me about storms. I moved to Orlando in 2004 right after Charlie hit and had to move in with no power for a week. No power = no A/C = living hell.

    OH GOD I think charlie was the worst one for me in recent memory. And I still had to do homework for high school during those outages.
