separating “multiplied” layers?

posted 2 months ago by JuniorKickstart

like.. if a blue circle overlaps a yellow circle, the middle will be green. and it looks good if its just regular multiplied layers. but if i try to turn them in to halftones, they get all dull and the overlapped color dies and turns a dull shade of blue or yellow.

how do i get them to separate as vibrant overlapped colors?

hmmm. maybe your halftone dots are too tiny? maybe send me a .psd of the problem layers and i’ll see if i can help; i’ve played around with halftone patterns in Photoshop a good bit. email: chriskoelle@gmail.com

Convert your layers to channels. All colour seps should be done in channels. It will save you mad headaches in the long run. Once you have your channels set up you can adjust the colour by double clicking the channel.. make it a spot colour.

If you want to post a before and after image I can pin point your problem better.
