    It doesn’t at all. Votes alone won’t get you in the top 10. DBH decides who gets into top 10 but votes do help a little. They’re after:

    "Semifinalists will be chosen based on a variety of factors including originality, creativity, ingenuity, votes*, and the artist’s efforts to promote their design."

    I recommend Gap. Maybe Banana Repulic or J.Crew.

    Nike if you are sporty. They just have their logos on many apparel products.

    Complexity, in most cases, generates at least some amount of quality through sheer involvement. Or, that’s what I’d like to think, because I’ve been trying to increase the complexity of my own shit. My clients disagree though!

    I don’t think a design has to be complicated or huge or full of crazyness to look amazing. I like all the top designs but they are nothing new in my eyes. No huge concept no complex processing. I guess it’s what the customer wants in the end and they definately want these 10 designs.

    on a side note if the 10k is to be awarded to the designer who has put a lot into the process then I’d say these guys all deserve it. in fact why not give them $1000 each?

    i re-worded the post text (per some comments i received) - although these are the (current as of 8/28)top designs by votes, there are other factors that DBH will look at when choosing the top 10 semifinalist. This only gives perspective on what we can view, which is votes.

    I agree as well. Personally I thought that a lot of the submissions started to look alike.
