<body>So, I'm about to finally upgrade my 17" iMac to a shiny new 24" and I'm wondering about the transferring process. For those of you who have undergone the transition, what was your process? Did you use the Migration Assistant, File Sharing, or an external HD with all your files / applications. Also, is there any issues with transferring applications like Photoshop, etc..?

<body>The Migration Assistant may take some time depending on how many files you'll be transferring but it's a completely hassle free solution. Applications and preferences transfer without any problems what-so-ever.</body>

<body>Yeah, I have everything on a couple external HD's, but I figured I would just do it through Migration Assistant once I clean out my old computer. Can I use Migration Assistant for the Adobe programs (PS, Illy, DW, Flash, etc..)?</body>

I'll do that or just do it over my network. Although, it will be much slower than just doing it via firewire.

As I asked before....does Photoshop, Illustrator, etc... transfer fine?</body>

I just did this a few weeks ago. The firewire cable works and during the initial installation process it should ask you if you want to do a transfer, then it walks you through it. All programs transfered fine. </body>
