They have let apple attack them for years, without doing anything really to defend themselves against it.
Look at one of their other failed ads. "Mojave" They start it off with people saying "Oh yeah, I’ve heard horrible things about vista", "I’m never using Vista" then towards the end is when they say something positive. Do you think people are going to pay attention to the commercial that long? Most Joe Schmos are going to hear only the bad things then tune it out.
The Jerry Seinfeld ads are another sham. They aren’t promoting anything. The only thing they do half-assed well is aim towards geeks. There are tons of subtle things like the mugshot of Bill, that only geeks would know or when they were talking about the old lady, that was supposed to be them mocking Steve Jobs.
I’ve also had my fucking fill of apple arguments "people only use them cause they are trendy". Really? Really is that your argument? People use them cause Leopard is a fucking better OS. Yeah it costs more, but thats what you pay for the quality of the product you get it. IF you don’t like it, just use a windows box...more power to you.

Apple is just great at manipulating people, and they use that in their advertising.. which is pretty unappealing to me.
it’s not a better operating system, it’s all preference.. I’m sick of people giving me shit for running windows, especially lame little hipster kids that don’t know the first thing about properly operating a PC [and yes, macs are PCs too.]
and honestly, that argument is pretty valid.. apple puts off this idea of 'we’re hip, we’re cool', so the assholes that are consumed with being cool eat that shit up.. where microsoft is more into promoting the actual product and saving a little integrity [up until these series of commercials, which is a well-earned retaliation].

BSOD is still a giant problem with windows, i got a BSOD error yesterday, but im not saying mac doesnt have its issues, ive often got stuck in fullscreen mode on crashed applications and not been able to alt+f4 zap them.
All in all - i like windows for anything other than video/photo editing and peripheral usage.. (firewire camera, scanner, printer etc...)

I know I’ve been a dick on the forums [especially lately].. but this post wasn’t meant to stir up shit.. it’s alright to have friendly arguments [like the one I had with mitchbones earlier], and the 'apple droolz' thing was clearly a joke.
I enjoyed the commercial, and we were talking about it in the emptees chat, so I figured I’d share it.
And while I appreciate you putting me in check, I’m always extremely professional and nice with my clients, and most people that know me best know that my nastiness is all in good fun, and I don’t mean to ruin anyone’s day.
