Depends on how you look at it, there is a lot of higher fashion and street wear type brands to do even better in different ways but as far as similar style and uniqueness Id say LintyFresh

i hate to rag on clothing companies, but stheart has always bugged me just because they rip glamour kills so hard, so i mean i guess they just wanna follow the trends, but i dont see it lasting very long, as stheart wont have any appeal once the trend is over.

but for real, i see kyle doing very well with electric zombie, just because he has the abbility to design his own stuff.

companies that dont have designers who design there own stuff, dont seem to go very far.

theres a difference between jc and most of the companies everyones mentioned, johnny cupcakes has his name on almost everything, people pay for the name johnny cupcakes. a lot of the companies such as linty fresh probably will be huge, but not in the same way. when you see a linty fresh shirt, you think "oh cool design' or something like that, you don’t immediatly know who made it.

yes i know that, trust me im looking to get people to design for scapula, but the thing with kyle is that he can actually design, he just chooses to have people design with him, cause they are his friends or whatever.

to be honest usually there is always someone better then you so if you have the money then you can get exactly what you want and your line can do better. Most of the more successful lines dont design the actual product its just there ideas and inspiration and they look over who actually does it.

johnny got big because he stayed independent...in the fact that he never sold his clothes through big corporate owned stores like zumiez or hot topic.

it would be much nicer though. it makes your products available to actual people who would rather buy from a store than use a credit card online (me being one of them).

In my opinion, I’ve never seen the logic in buying a shirt that costs over 30$. Especially when theres so many awesome clothing lines around with sweet designs and college student friendly prices.

If you’re speaking in terms of blowing up and money - anyone.

But I honestly don’t know of any clothing companies that can rival what Johnny Cupcakes has built. He’s very personable and that’s what draws people to his brand. He’s that rich, sort of indie guy who vacations on Martha’s Vineyard and has big, amazing family dinners. He’s the celebrity of the independent world. And that’s what draws people to him. It’s not his clothes, it’s all about what people think he stands for and what they think it makes them by following his trend.

He lets people into his life, no other brand does that. Here’s a guy who’s a millionaire, living the dream yet he takes time to update his blogs almost daily, keeps you in the loop, makes you feel like a friend. And people eat that shit up.

It just seems so appropriate that Linty Fresh achieve household name status if only for the fact that he (eric), as Johnny Earle did with his brand, puts SO much care into everything he does with his company; refusing to cut corners financially to turn a larger profit, and instead keeping things exciting, innovative, and memorable.

It’s about creating brand recognition- that is the key to long term success.

I speak in reference the the stories behind every design, the way you think of Keith when you see a soft serve machine, etc.

    That’s my prediction.

For a second prediction, I can honestly see 410BC having continued and ever growing success. Their designs have changed so much from the days of their tapes and bears they had in previous lines.

I commented in a similar fashion on the holloween tee Deal did for them, but since "skate wolf" came out, I can see the direction 410 is taking their design and name-- it seems so secure.

Where was Johnny at year one... I don’t think he could beat what Eric has built with Linty Fresh so far.

I don’t think I would ever buy a Linty Fresh or Johnny Cupcakes shirt but I can certainly appreciate the design and thought that went into them. From a branding stand point both have done an amazing job.

I mean I have known your company since you were selling shirts at the Doc Fry in Warwick, NY ( I lived in Vernon, NJ)

It wasn’t meant to really be a negative comment, but I felt like you were onto something really good when your line was about peace and love and good times.

Hahah yeah man they did play!
Along with To Kill The King who were neighbors of mine.
Its kind of a shame to see the local scene wash away over the past couple of years.

Honestly, I admire what GK has accomplished so far. Its exactly what I hope for with my company as well. I think you should keep a positive, fun message while reaching for the sky and growing.

I actually had a question I wanted to ask you about Vans shoes. You were working something out with them right?

I think blank t-shirts are the next big thing. Then we will all be out of jobs. Except for GK, didn’t they just release a hot pink blank?

I think the people who run The Hundreds seem chill but I hate their clothes, especially the tees.

"some companies just start companies just to have a clothing company and cant design for shit. if that makes sense."----- I understand what you’re saying. At the same token, some people have great ideas but can’t translate that into photoshop/illustrator. Johnny Cupcakes doesn’t design his own shit but he has the ideas.

if you live in california you see the hundreds every where, I personally don’t get their stuff, but Bobby Hundreds seems like a really nice dude.
