thanks man, not long. about a year this december. I started to design layouts in december of 07. just doing headers and background. then The Maine asked me to do there space in June. and went all out, the way I do now and I just took off.
mine will be changing tomorrow. Gonna be nothing eart-shattering, but it will definitely be much much better than my current layout. The one i have at the moment was just one i did when i was learing overlays, so now i can play with it more.

hi yeah its not centred, but if you look all the relevant text etc is in the middle of the bark background - all the comments and pic etc flow down there and every bit of text sits right in the middle of it ( yeah off centre )
Thats probably the best design Ive seen from you dude. Nice job. I think maybe for the drop shadows on the shirts it may look better if you make the settings something like a 90 degree angle with 0 distance 0 spread 5 size and 50% opacity. Also maybe ease up on the texture used on the logo banner. Looks good though dude.

I’ve worked on myspaces for about a year now. So i definitely know my way around very well. My coding is very advanced, and i can basically make my layouts look like webpages, yet still fully functional as a myspace. Also i have worked a lot with clothing companies, so i feel that my experience there will be good for laying your page out nicely so your visitors will get the most out of their visit to your page.
As far as we comparing myself to the rest of the guys, i dont ever do that kind of thing.
But I assure you that you’ll get a very professional and appealing layout. Also i keep things very professional and as laid back as possible. I’m also all for going the extra mile to get everything just the way my clients like for them to be!

I am a little biased (co-owner of we are synapse, haha) so I am going to say that we can do a killer job for ya. But we have been doing myspace’s for quite some time and I tend to think that we try and do some really visually distinguished work. I don’t mind paying, just thought this would be a neat + smart thing to do, not only for me, but for people looking for xmas gifts for many, and for them to have a household brand name listed in their portfolio/client list which would then help them get more clients + make more money. For example, I’m looking at every ones websites and all I see is emo bands and no familiar clothing lines. That made me very hesitant in working with them.
Even farmers + Indians used to trade goods + services with each other. Shame on you Jonathan, for thinking with a narrow mind.
Trading is a fun way to work sometimes. Much more stress free and makes for great relationships... I dunno, sort of establishes a more friendly vibe than client sort of thing... besides, its awesome when something new comes out from the line and they throw you some stuff that you weren’t expecting. Also on the designer side it can be a lot of fun because friends always give you more creative freedom.
Dobi and Kyle (electric zombie, really looking forward to my xmas package!!!) have been way cool about that kinda stuff. Haven’t worked with Eric or Pyknic on anything yet but with all the emails back and forth they seem like they could / are? going to be really fun to work with.

Seems like positions always change depending on who the work is for. Some people won’t budge on a price because of "industry standards" but if JC needs something done some people will do it for free just to have the name on the client list. To each his own!

I am a little biased (co-owner of we are synapse, haha) so I am going to say that we can do a killer job for ya. But we have been doing myspace’s for quite some time and I tend to think that we try and do some really visually distinguished work. As much as I’d like to do it, I think Chad’s stuff is really good, and he has definitely done well at making a name for himself in the past few months. We Are Synapse and Team Doom are both very good too, depending on what you are looking for.

I don’t mind paying, just thought this would be a neat + smart thing to do, not only for me, but for people looking for xmas gifts for many, and for them to have a household brand name listed in their portfolio/client list which would then help them get more clients + make more money. For example, I’m looking at every ones websites and all I see is emo bands and no familiar clothing lines. That made me very hesitant in working with them.
Even farmers + Indians used to trade goods + services with each other. Shame on you Jonathan, for thinking with a narrow mind.

Trading is a fun way to work sometimes. Much more stress free and makes for great relationships... I dunno, sort of establishes a more friendly vibe than client sort of thing... besides, its awesome when something new comes out from the line and they throw you some stuff that you weren’t expecting. Also on the designer side it can be a lot of fun because friends always give you more creative freedom.
Dobi and Kyle (electric zombie, really looking forward to my xmas package!!!) have been way cool about that kinda stuff. Haven’t worked with Eric or Pyknic on anything yet but with all the emails back and forth they seem like they could / are? going to be really fun to work with.

Seems like positions always change depending on who the work is for. Some people won’t budge on a price because of "industry standards" but if JC needs something done some people will do it for free just to have the name on the client list. To each his own!
