Ill admit to being biased against Palin, but shes already stated soccermomdom twice, and you can see how hard shes trying to connect to middle class and common people. that is a good strategy though I will admit.
tybomb said: she keeps doing that "jokey-kiddy" voice which erks me a bit.
No doubt! How can anyone take Palin seriously with all the "dawgonit", shout out to 3rd graders, baby voice, and winks?
Jorolo said: Palin is hot. End of discussion.
The only reason I can see why you think Palin is hot is because she’s constantly standing next to ugly ass old men. I wouldnt kick her out of bed but i wouldnt call her the day after either.
i could really tell that biden is from the senate.. he seemed pretty casual.. palin did seem a bit rehearsed (all the Beauty Pageants? ) , but both managed to loose my attention on a few occasions

Was it just me or did she totally avoid certain questions!?
I agree that she did seem to avoid some of the questions.
To be totally honest - I was expecting to her to be either over prepared and jittery OR a mess like she was with Couric. She definitely surprised me and was pretty well together. I think her biggest misteps were the following:
- she did wonder away from several questions; sometimes finder her way back - others not
- she absolutely failed to fight back when Biden made shots at Mccain. Biden was quick to defend Obama on every issue brought up by Palin (to my knowledge) - but Palin seemed to go off on her own thing, rather than defend McCain. Now I AM NOT saying that this was because she felt that Biden was right, I just think she was too caught up in telling everyone about what she has done in Alaska. Lets face it, there are tougher choices to make as a senator and president than there are as a mayor or governor.
- she stated she agreed with Cheneys role of Vice President 0 which is against what it is written as in the constitution. Super bad call.
Over all - I thik they both did well but give the V to Biden. I appreciate that he kept things very respectful (often stating that he thought McCain was a good person) and calm.
I enjoyed that they were both relatively civil throughout...i hate choosing winners as Im somewhat biased, but I will say that they both did what they needed to...Biden was straight forward and well spoken..and Palin didnt fall on her ass like everyone was expecting...

i watched the entire thing. i believe she did rather well. he didnt walk all over her like everyone anticipated. besides the comments made on emptees, i believe the general census of people were pretty pleased on how she handled herself. i also noticed him eyeing her up and down from time to time which i thought was funny. and finally the last thing i noticed was that biden didnt seem to talk about obama as often as mccain ... its going to be one hell of an election.

I thought he talked about Obama as much as he talked about Mccain. He always said me and Obama or Obamas plan when he spoke.
But I mean VPs talk about the top half of the ticket more than themselves anyways....

I agree. She did do a good job. Much better than anyone expected. Also she has a lot less experience and Biden has 35 years, so it is impressive that she was able to go up against him. Shes definitely capable, I just dont think that her or McCain have plans that are going to work, their plans are too similar to what Bush has been doing the past 8 years.
I was at work and missed it all, but there was one patron during the intermission that said that he would rather watch tina fey and then his trophy said, who would know the difference, and they laughed.

lol, Im willing to give that to her as an honest mistake; weve all misnamed people before, and like she said, shes "only been at this for, like, what, five weeks?"
Minor flubs aside, she wasnt able to stick to the issues, so she brought it back to the "Mavericks" and energy.
I want to beat that woman with a hockey stick. And whats up with all her winking... I loved when they asked them their biggest downfalls and she didnt even answer the question, at all. Meaning her biggest downfall is that she doesnt listen or know how to answer a question....

she is terribly unqualified. going into the VP choice a few months ago I was undecided. when mccain made the decision of palin, i was swung to Obama, though i will likely vote for barr. because palin speaks widely of being a mayor, governor, and VP hopeful, its fair to attack her at all levels of her "resume" for reform. as mayor she expressed interest in banning books, also attempting to fire the librarian who disagreed with her. breaking the first amendment is not someone that hangs to the right or being a fundamentalist christian, it has nothing to do with parties or religion, bottom line is it is downright unamerican. in her nomination speech, the reform she could speak of was about selling planes on ebay, thats not reform, that is selling a plane. reform, in my eyes, is taking a look back on what has happened over the past 100 years. what are we trying to reform into? why is our government getting involved in wall street and corrupting a corrupt free market even more? the answer to this issue is that we dont have the government that we once had that favored entrepreneurs and consumers whom can decide to build new businesses to counter the ones that act unethical. reform is not vetoing a "bridge to nowhere." in our current economic status, to focus on ear mark spending is like focusing on minnows when there are sharks in the water. sarah palin, knows nothing about the principles that once made this country great and therefore can not bring us back there. she has no understanding for the history of our nation, what thomas jefferson, john adams, benjamin franklin stood for. i hear her saying that we need less government, and i agree with that, but she needs to understand the fundamentals of the constitution that celebrate the individual and their rights as being one before she can say that. john mccain gets this, biden and obama get this, but palin is well... uninformed, thus doesnt deserve a chance to sit anywhere in political office, and it is in my opinion a catastrophe that someone like this held an office at any level, even mayor. one of the fundamentals of reform that we look at in this election should be getting all politicians such as herself out of office, and certainly not giving them greater responsibility on. the most maverick thing palin can do at this point is step down and say there are people much more informed than her that can lead this nation if need be. as an undecided voter i really wanted to give john mccain a chance at my vote, but she really failed you.

4 serious what was with the flirting to the camera, is that how she would conduct herself with world leaders?
"If Senator McCain were unable to finish his term I would jump right in and be even more mavricky...wink, wink,...smile."
Was she debating to become Vice President or trying to talk me into buying a 20 dollar lap dance?
I watched some of her other debate and see didnt act this way. She was like a Characture of herself.
