I bought a book called how to get ideas by Jack Foster and there was a quote in the first chapter that explained how to get ideas very well.
Herman Von Helmholtz, the German philosopher, said he used three steps to get new thoughts.
The first was "Preparation", the time during which he investigated the problem in all directions.
The second was "Incubation" when he didnt think consciously about the problem at all.
The third was "Illumination" , when happy ideas come unexpectedly without effort like an inspiration.
Ive been using this method and for a while and its really weird how ideas just pop into my head, mostly right before I go to sleep.

The most important part is the preparation. If you half ass it your ideas will be half ass.

thats how the human mind works though. apparently we will better solve a problem after either a while of ignoring it or a nights sleep- mostly because the brain will always subconciously try to solve problems- its the brains natural process. and its the reason why those patterns strobe like those funny eye things- its our brains trying to solve the puzzle.
thus the term- 'sleep on it'.

Thats pretty cool. I think most great ideas are "illuminated".
yo gm whats with the identity crisis?
yeah about sleep its true, thats why they say you should keep a notebook and pen on your bedside or under your pillow because great ideas usually pop up in your sleep. and you have to write them down immediately when you wake up.
