Contest Sabotage

posted about 1 month ago by dcastle8183

Just wondering if any of you guys have had experience in these tee design contests of being sabotaged? I’ve been seeing more and more of it, it seems. I’m not trying to be arrogant or anything but I’ll put up a design and it would be one of the better designs, it will be doing really good in the contest and then all the sudden drop down really low like some one gave me a 1 out of 5 or a 1 out of 10. I know the contest organizers are wise to that kind of stuff but why would some one do that??? Do they think its funny? Does it make them feel better to rain on some ones parade?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Well isn’t voting just personal preference? Not everyone is going to like it.

Plus it would take a lot of votes to drop your avg score down, unless you only have like 3 votes..

this is why dbh’s system is good. You can’t rate a design low you can only vote to like it.

Justgeoff, right I understand that I’m talking about when people vote the lowest possible score when something is obviously worth more even if its not their particular tastes.

For example if I see a design that I know took a lot of effort and is implemented well even if its not my particular tastes I still rate it high to medium high, but maybe most people don’t do that... oh well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not really bitching or complaining just an observation.

integral, yeah I understand that... but if you have like 10 votes that are 10's or 8's on a scale of 1-10 and some votes a 1, it will bring it down to like a 6 with that one vote and it is evident what someone has done. but liek I said not complaining....

contests are games. all is fair in love and contests. play the game. you too can go vote 0 or 1's on the competitors. and even rally Empteers to do so as well... not that i recommend such a thing, but it would certainly increase your chances to win. then, if you choose not to, its your morals that are getting in the way of you winning, which should at least give you some solace if you value ethics. but having good ethics sure dont ease the pain of not getting money though... ? :)

i can understand your frustration, but you have talent and if you continue to produce, mathematics is on your side.

I totally see your point. I’m just saying that no matter how great your design is, there’s bound to be someone who just hates it for whatever reason. There’s plenty of stuff I hate that other people think is great. It’s all subjective. Don’t sweat it. If it’s a strong design you’ll get more positives than negatives.

Just because you say you aren’t complaining, doesn’t mean that you aren’t.

Give the competitors zeros, have your friends give zeros, its all a game at the end, its like Survivor minus eating rice and the dumb physical challenges.
