Thanks guys. We worked long and hard on this update, so we appreciate any feedback. I know it’s tough to see something new on a site you frequent, but I think after a few days these changes will grow on you.

damn, you guys are going to make bank of these ads. 10 adds @ 500 a pop = $5,000 * 12 months = $70,000 a year just on ad space.
you guys can just hire me to sit around and make sure the site keeps up its traffic for a fraction of that cost... I have a better solution. You keep me on the payroll as an outside consultant and in exchange for my salary, my job will be never to tell people these things that I know. I don’t even have to come into the office, I can do this job from home.

As far as ads go, for a site doing 2 million page views a month that’s a pretty good deal. But if you’re an Emptees regular and you can’t quite get the budget, we’ll work with you.

everything looks awesome, but for the love of god, please put back the top tees section on the mainpage! I think it not being there will affect people being contacted for purchasing designs.
i just sat for a good minute or so thinking my internet sucked waiting for the rest of the main page to load.
i like the layout, except i loved the recent posts on the main page.
please god put the top 8 back up there! as well as the talk sneak peak on the front page. I feel lost without them, and I’m sad now cause I get a few extra days of exposure on my designs when they hit the top 8, now people will have to go a few pages back in the tees section to see a popular design rather than just click what’s in front of them. I love everything else, but the front page is honestly disappointing for this very reason.
yeah, i liked the top 8. i know the way it is looks cleaner, but it was a nice preview and when visiting the site for the first time of the day, id always check those out first.
the top 6 tees not being about is kinda bad IMO, who here have been in the top 8 and got a buzz from it? It is a good thing- bring it back ....please? :)
I really like the new look/layout but losing the top tees is a real shame. Even 6-8 small cropped thumbnails running under the length of the main tee of the day picture would suffice.. that’s the only thing i’d reconsider. The reason for that is that being in the top 6-8 is the only way the 'little people' like myself ever get a look-in on the homepage and even though I personally never expect to win it is helpful in terms of exposure - the way it is now is just gonna be a Horsebites, Jimyo, Godmachine, Finley, Kyle, Lenjer etc rotation day in day out, which, even though they fully deserve, isn’t great for people who just want to get their stuff seen on some level. Not only that, but tee submissions are way up right now, and who honestly scrolls to page 3 or 4 on every visit to emptees? Not many i’d say.

Looks great! Change always takes a little getting used since we have been looking at the same format for so long, but I think it’s headed in the right direction. I’m guessing they we implement some type of home page like it was previously.
IT Kind of sucks, because now I am going to take the home page off as a bookmark and just make the talk section the bookmark. It’s what I look at most and refresh for. then tees is second...
I don’t even feel compelled to look at the front page anymore ... it won’t change for a full day in any way shape or form ... now it’s kinda just in the way. hope my honesty doesn’t hurt, but it really was a useful tool before.

It’s like if Google were to just remove say the images function on their site, it would just render an entire section of it obsolete and a lot of people would miss it. The new emptees homepage is more of a splash page. I’m not knocking anything else other than that - the look and style of it is all amazing.

I hate change so I’m trying to re-adjust but before I didn’t know how to use the resources section... I just spent 20 minutes in there now.
I don’t know if I’m a dweeb for making a suggestion, but in the resource section could there be something like an icon per each? It would just make it easier to know what’s inside... more intising I guess?

I stopped using adblock a while back.. sometimes ads are a good thing!
I really love the new layout. The only thing that’s REALLY bugging me is the 'special' posts, if you will, used to have the whole div highlighted with that blue, but you switched to just putting that blue background color behind the link to the post. It might just be me, but I think it looked way better before.

it doesnt suck.. we’re just so used to the old homepage! I love the new layout though, everything is much more clean and works really well! < 3 thanks for all your hard work
^Amen! The new look is super clean and super easy to navigate. I love the fact that the ads are small and non-intrusive. The front page lost a little pizzaz IMO but everything else is ace.
I too like the layout better and it looks sharper, I’d still like the homepage to be abit lively but I guess u guys are working on that. Good job all in all.

You can now edit or delete a comment for 15 minutes. This is how most forums and blogs work. It lets you fix typos and other minor things, but then holds you responsible for the things you say by not letting you delete it later.

But let’s say I quoted someone [like i did Cole above] and then that someone decides to change what he said... like he also did above... his older posts still remains in my quote... in other words, 15 mins or not, it does not make much of a difference, does it?

I hate change so I’m trying to re-adjust but before I didn’t know how to use the resources section... I just spent 20 minutes in there now.
I don’t know if I’m a dweeb for making a suggestion, but in the resource section could there be something like an icon per each? It would just make it easier to know what’s inside... more intising I guess?

main page is coming back, dude... see the petition post. Other than that, everything else is top notch actually, especially the Resources section... I really dig their focus on that, so kudos to IndieLabs for making it so. :)

I really love the new layout. The only thing that’s REALLY bugging me is the 'special' posts, if you will, used to have the whole div highlighted with that blue, but you switched to just putting that blue background color behind the link to the post. It might just be me, but I think it looked way better before.

^Amen! The new look is super clean and super easy to navigate. I love the fact that the ads are small and non-intrusive. The front page lost a little pizzaz IMO but everything else is ace.

You can now edit or delete a comment for 15 minutes. This is how most forums and blogs work. It lets you fix typos and other minor things, but then holds you responsible for the things you say by not letting you delete it later.

But let’s say I quoted someone [like i did Cole above] and then that someone decides to change what he said... like he also did above... his older posts still remains in my quote... in other words, 15 mins or not, it does not make much of a difference, does it?

Right, I see what you mean, but people need to be able to edit comments for a little while, but I still think a quote should show the content you’re quoting, not what it was later changed to. Certainly not a perfect solution, but hopefully much better than before.

You can edit / delete posts any time. If you’re talking about comments, you can edit / delete those for 15 minutes after you post them. We talk about this more above.
