your last comment in that SD thread made me want to show you this. Hopefully next year I will be making my way to the states and have chosen to make it more of an adventure and have decided to go by sea. Having looked into and researched it all, I wanted to show you these videos- and everyone else.

Mistahfred said "big boats dont really get bumped around by big waves, they are like moving land-mass so what ever the sea the boats should hardly move, at least thats how i think it works."

you know when you sit in the seat near the wing on an aeroplane and on landing you see the wings bend...

man GM...I was thinking about taking a boat trip the other way (from US to Ireland/UK) but those videos make me give it a second thought...might just stick to a plane...

I'd love to hear some more about your research, I haven't had much luck finding anything other than cruise lines (which may be the only way to go)...

and just as a side note from that 2nd video, the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack is fantastic...and Jennifer Connelly is hot...

That's exactly what I was thinking when Sitting Duck was telling his story, I was like "Geez it's almost like they need seatbelts for their bed or something!"

Great selection of vids Senor Machino...please place me firmly in the "land lubber" category :D

I should of wrote *ship* instead of boat haha, what i meant was none of the bigger (cargo, container) ships would get pushed around enough for people to start flying out of bed. I take the Dover - Calais route 4/5 times a year and its one of the worst crossings. Also the North Pole is land mass, and doesn't have anything underneath it ;)

The difference between a land mass and a big boat is that the land mass is anchored to more land underneath it. A boat is free floating. Ughhh.

We took a ferry from Calais to Dover when I lived in England. It stormed pretty bad and that boat was definitely moving. GM, you are an adventurer for sure.</blockquote>

I should of wrote *ship* instead of boat haha, what i meant was none of the bigger (cargo, container) ships would get pushed around enough for people to start flying out of bed. I take the Dover - Calais route 4/5 times a year and its one of the worst crossings. Also the North Pole is land mass, and doesn't have anything underneath it ;)</blockquote>

The Earth is 70% water...i'm pretty sure at some point if the ocean decides to toss a ship, it's going to toss the fucking ship, no matter how large. And yeah, did you not watch those fucking videos!?!? It's obviously possible. Stop trying to out-knowledge Godmachine. He's kinda like your dad when your a little kid. He just knows everything about everything. Drop it.</blockquote>

My comment wasn't directed at Godmachine, and i wasn't trying to out-knowledge anyone. Maybe instead of trying to be the big man by telling me to 'drop it' you could of not commented and realised there is nothing 'to drop'. But thanks for your input and hijack of Godmachines thread.
