<body>I just got my new wacom cintiq today and I'm loving it, but my photoshop brushes' line quality is really shoddy. I'm not sure why it's doing this but whenever I try and sketch something the lines are bumpy. The settings are normal and shouldn't have any problems...any ideas?

Also, does anyone know how to make the illustrator brushes NOT automatically smooth the line that you draw with either the brush or the pencil?

Thanks in advance...</body>

<body>for ps: not sure, but maybe reset the ps preferences? http://www.google.com/search?q=reset+photoshop+preferences

for illustrator: double click the brush icon in the toolbar, adjust the fidelity/smoothness settings to your liking.</body>

<body>Alright, I reset the preferences AND updated the drivers for the tablet. I'm not sure why the line quality is still like that...

Thanks for the response though...if anyone has anymore ideas, please let me know!</body>

<body>i make my lines in illustrator cuz of the same thing, my thought is and i could be wrong, a brush in photoshop at default is a circle, resampled hundreds of times, it makes a line. well the edges of those circles, unless you are using a soft brush, dont always line up perfectly, creating tiny little inconsistencies.

drawing in vector will get rid all the little boogers and your lines will look way better, plus you'll have better editability. </body>

That is a good point...very well could be true

How do I make it so in illustrator the stupid lines don't smooth themselves out....is that just by adjusting the smoothing and fidelity?

<body>yeah I did all that, but it still shapes my line for me. I want it EXACTLY the same as the line I draw. Is that possible?

Also, how do you turn pressure sensitivity on?</body>

if you want almost exactly as you draw, turn both of them to 0/0.5
