  <body>Haven't been around lately... I've been taking a bit of a break from t-shirt design to work on some more traditional artwork.

Just wanted to post some of the things I've been working on. These are all linocuts that I hand carved and printed. The two color designs consisted of 2 separate hand carved blocks for each color. Hope ya can dig!

awesome man! I haven't done any etching or anything else at this point. I really want to get into letterpress printing but the equipment is really really costly. I'm looking around on ebay to see if I can just start collecting letterpress fonts and just start small.

So is etching reproducible? I'd don't know much about it.. is it like a plate that you could use for printing posters and what not?</body>

      <body>well you can reuse it as man tiems as you want.. i think eventually it gets worn down... you use oil based inks and one of those giant roll presses.. but its cool cuz you can leave residual ink on your copper etching plate to get different effects... and you can do multiple colors too with multiple plates... registration is a bitch because you are basically eyeballing it unless you use some sort of measurement marks on like a piece of mylar on the press...

oil inks are a mess though... its too much work for me..
 like this is another one with differnt wiping of the ink..
&lt;img src="http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs22/f/2007/343/a/b/beak_man_etch2_by_monkeyassslapper.jpg" /&gt;

its messy because you got to wipe enough ink into your plate to get inside the grooves where the acid ate away the copper, but then you got to wipe loads off with like cheese cloth type stuff...

I took one printing making class in my college... i didnt do much with it after that..

also its hard to etch thick lines because when you put the ink in it.. you usually wind up wiping the ink out of the thicker lines... there are tons of different things youc an do with traditional printing though.. combinging different things, but not practical at making huge runs unless you plan on spending loads of time

I just love the way the linocut stuff looks and I wanted to do something that was reproducable. I started working with screen printing but it just takes up so much room that my house wasn't a greatest place to do it.

ok yeah, I think this is one of the methods old school poster shops print custom graphics. We have an old printshop in Nashville called Hatch show print which is an awesome little place to visit... they do all their printing using those old techniques.

thanks a bunch Jud! Now if I can just get the hang of screenprinting, my life would be complete;0)</body>
