if you’ve been paying attention to emptees, i’m sure you noticed my Huge Type Look Sweet shirt won tee of the day two days ago.
I don’t know which is worse. That they’re selling it for more money than we or or that their type isn’t even huge.

Damn that was fast. Not only did they rip it, they didn’t even understand what they were ripping. Maybe emptees should be invite only to keep the poachers out. That sucks dude.

Me too. That’s one of the reasons Emptees is so awesome. Designers sticking up for each other, spreading the word and exposing this sort of filth.

It’s one thing to work in the same style as someone else, that’s just design evolution. It’s a whole different game when you flat out rip someone off, and badly.
Since he was already ripping him off he should have at least used the same typography. I guess he wanted to show how unique his product was by using a totally awesome typeface and putting a mile of leading between each line.

Damn, that just blows. The upsides, however, do remain:
1. It’s a completely crappy rip-off in every way.
2. It’s on Zazzle (i.e. not a cool site, lol).
3. It’s more expensive than the (much cooler) original.
Granted, I’d be pissed too (I’ve had this happen many, many times to my designs) but I guess my point is that it could be worse. I highly doubt that person is getting any real business...and if he does, I doubt it’s from people who have any taste in design or even know other shirt sites even exist.
It’s cool that you guys posted comments though...even though it’s a low quality rip, it’s nice to be able to call out the offender right there on the site. It’ll be interesting to see if he pulls the design...

It’s crazy? Yes. It’s expected though. The top shirt is over five years old and one of our top selling shirts. It’s rudimentary in the way of art, but it’s simplicity is what drives it..
