It took long enough, but I finished it. I hated every design I came up with. I like things simple. So, I built a news management system for the backend, but decided to make a little blog for myself. Then, I continued to expand it by adding the about, work, archive, and contact sections of the site. I kept adding content and just turned it into the full site. I added a commenting system as well. I don't get a lot of traffic, but I'm working to improve the SEO and expand the backend.

In retrospect, I should have just created a wordpress theme, but I wanted to work on a content management system and try some new stuff.

Anyways, enough rambling, Go have a look if you'd like!

Alright, so my Western Digital MyBook finally decided to stop mounting to either my iMac or my Macbook. I removed the hard drive and might just put it in a new enclosure, but I want a new one anyways. So, now I'm in the market for a new hard drive. Here are the companies I'm leaning towards, followed by links to the specific hd. Let me know any opinions, if any, you have on the companies and/or any of the specific models.

Seagate - FreeAgent Desk for Mac

G-Tech - G-Drive Combo

LaCie - d2 Quadra

Ideally, I'd just like to get a Drobo, but I don't feel like shelling out that much money. The Seagate is intriguing because it has a 5 year warranty. The G-Tech is 3 years, and the LaCie's are 2 years. The LaCie 1TB is a great deal on Amazon. Anyways, let me know any opinions or experiences you have with any of these.

Thanks!

Evolinside design means a lot to me so if you could go comment on my pictures, that would be awesome. THANK YOU!

So, I'm about to finally upgrade my 17" iMac to a shiny new 24" and I'm wondering about the transferring process. For those of you who have undergone the transition, what was your process? Did you use the Migration Assistant, File Sharing, or an external HD with all your files / applications. Also, is there any issues with transferring applications like Photoshop, etc..?

50 watt Peavey Valveking 112 for $325 - it's in great shape and was never used in a show and kept in my room

Genz Benz 600 Tube AND Solid State Bass Head w/ a 4 space SKB Rack Case for $700 or $600 for just the head - they are both in great shape. The head was immediately put in the rack case upon purchase, and was only used for a handful of shows.

If you're an apple guy or gal, and you've been using Safari mainly, you might want to check out Firefox 3. They just released it and it claims to be 2 to 3 times faster on Macs than it's predecessor. I've been using it a lot recently and I'm really liking it. It's definitely worth checking out...

Here's an article that talks about the improvements for macs...

So, I need some help.

I usually experiment with all the different processes of doing a design. I always hand draw all of it, or at least the majority, and then I either trace it with the pen tool and do the line work that way (time consuming), draw the linework and color it with my tablet, or ink it and scan it in and attempt to auto trace it or have the lines clean enough to leave alone. I use a .08 micron pen. I usually use regular paper, but I need to do more in my large sketchbook. Basically, I want to be able to just ink the drawings and bring them into the computer and color them. But, auto trace usually looks horrible, or the lines aren't clean enough and they come out bad.

This is for all the experts that ink and then bring it in. Horsebites is the perfect example because I know he does it that way. I just can't get the inked lines to come out looking good.

Any tips/help is much appreciated...

I could use both, and I might also make like 8 of them and have them all done in this style and use them for various promotion / logo stuff.

What do you think?

It wasn't really addressed in another thread, and I'm just going to delete this once it's answered.

How do you make the brushes pressure sensitive and the line always stays solid black, and only changes size? I did it how you're supposed to I presume, but the lines get smaller AND change color to lighter shades. I have shape dynamics turned on. If someone could be specific how to fix this in Photoshop cs3 that would be amazing. Thank you.

Alright, I brought back the other post Jimmy made about Corel along time ago to avoid having to make a new post...but nobody seemed to respond. My client that I did tee shirt designs for needs the illustrator (.AI) files in Corel format. Their printer uses Corel? I don't know why, but is their a certain format I can export the .AI file into something that can be opened in Corel. I've asked him to ask them, but he hasn't said anything other that they can't open it. Any help is greatly appreciated...

Hey guys,

For some reason when I pick different colors, it only changes to shades of grey. Basically it won't let me choose colors like yellow, green, or anything. It's just shades of grey. I'm sure it's something stupid, but I couldn't find anything on line about it.

Let me know...

Thanks!

Hey guys,

I'm selling this design

Rock Skull

You've probably seen it on here. I'd love to print it myself, but I don't have the money and I need to pay for a dog. Email me if you are interested. I can adjust it to your needs and add whatever. Just email me using the 'email me' button in my profile. Thanks!

I just got my new wacom cintiq today and I'm loving it, but my photoshop brushes' line quality is really shoddy. I'm not sure why it's doing this but whenever I try and sketch something the lines are bumpy. The settings are normal and shouldn't have any problems...any ideas?

Also, does anyone know how to make the illustrator brushes NOT automatically smooth the line that you draw with either the brush or the pencil?

Thanks in advance...
