Totally, red drips that are faint almost so that you get that mix of blood and water on the shower in a horror movie look.

Then submit it somewhere so I can buy it... cause it will get picked.

Before you call me a RIP OFF you dickhead you better fuckin do your research first. It’s called CREATIVE COMMONS and it means I can do this to it:

    You are free:
to Share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work
to Remix — to adapt the work

    http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/

    So there. Get over it.

hmm, sorry CT but this time, i don’t follow the hype arround this design. i always enjoy your artwork, but here i think, there are so much more individually and unique designs at emptees. the main-effect i get is the same like the basis photo. for me it could be much more changed to your individual style.

if you decide to call me "dickhead" too, because of this critique, feel free to do. but i think, better a real feedback than a "suckmyballs"-comment. :)

Haha you’re not a dickhead dude everyone is entitled to their opinion. Those guys just don’t know what they’re saying and jump to conclusions without really knowing the whole story.

As for the design, the base photo was already pretty cool that there is no need to stylize it further. I think most of us here fail to understand that even simple designs can work pretty well.

I think he knows that "simple designs work pretty well". What he’s trying to tell you is that it’s kind of bogus because you’re trying to sell some artwork where the main focus is a picture that you stole. Yeah sure it’s CreativeCommons, but it’s pretty lame that all you did was change some levels and add a blood drip.

Also CreativeCommons says nothing about selling the work as your own.

The least you can do is contact the author of the picture and ask him for permission.

Jesus there’s no stealing photos here you stupid fuck. The point of Creative Commons is that you are distributing your work for other people to use. You just determine whether it’s for non-commercial use or not. In this case, it’s ok for commercial use. The author gave the rights to his image commercially as long as you give him credit. Yes that means I can use it whatever way I want--photoshop filter it to death, add drips, add a dicknose, etc. and sell it to the highest bidder. I’m sick and tired of people like you who think just because something didn’t take 10 hours to make then it must be no good. I mean shit they should take away the TOTD if that’s the case.

As for contacting the owner of the photo..pleasee...done and done.. In fact, he liked what I did with the photo after I asked him if it was ok to use and sell on t-shirts. Here’s what he said:

"Thanks for getting in touch - I love what you’ve done with the pic.
I always tag my photos with a CC Attribution License i.e. if you want to use the image it needs a credit.
So, if I’d be happy to do whatever you like with it as long as somewhere on the final product you can get in my Flickr name 'piccadillywilson'.

    Cheers
    Matt"

So there. I mean seriously guys get the fuck over it already.

There was no "credit" given until somebody called you out. No need to belittle me for stating the truth.

There’s no credit because this is not the final product. It’s a mockup and noone has printed it. Like he said, the credit is for the final product you dumbass.

"Stating the truth"?? You’re a fucktard for calling me a thief before knowing the truth. I’m not belittling you any more than you belittled me by accusing me of stealing something I didn’t.

Anyway, I have nothing to explain to you anymore. Anything you say is a futile attempt to redeem yourself.

Alright I’m gonna stop. I’ve had too much fun. I can’t believe such a successful artist can be so rude. Now it’s posted on the internet for everybody to read.

What I’m trying to get at is that you’re SUPPOSE to credit the author of the picture no matter what you decide to do with the photo.

You failed to credit them; that’s why I lashed out at you, because the base image is actually somebody else’s.

Noone’s dodging your point. What part of this didn’t you understand?:

"..I’d be happy to do whatever you like with it as long as somewhere on the final product you can get in my Flickr name 'piccadillywilson'."

In the end, noone is stealing anything (which you baselessly accused me of). And credit will be given when and if the shirt will be produced (the final product)--which the original owner of the photo himself said.

Anyway, all I’m saying is that before you accuse anyone of stealing/ripping please know the whole story.

I contact people who share creative commons photos to ask if I can reference them too. I usually just toss them up on the second monitor and use them as a visual aid. Nothing wrong with that. Or this tee.
