So, the original idea was to have an astronaut with a picnic basket for a head that had some sort of food item as a jetpack. I ended up changing it to a superhero that constantly spews food from his head and flies around using a giant soda bottle as a jet pack. All of this is hand drawn, inked, then traced in illi. My limit is 5 colors on this piece. The shirt color will be AA’s royal blue. so the blue you’re seeing will be shirt color, not a print color. They wanted something really bright, so that’s why the colors are so heavily saturated. I hope they like it!

EDIT updated design to Pyknic’s requests.

The composition on this reminds me too much of the other crazy-faced basket design they recently printed. I think this is my favorite text work that I’ve seen you do though. Very nice job.

The name of the company is Pyknic and there is a picnic basket with a face. I hear to many accusations about designers copying other peoples work. Yeah they’re similar and he probably saw sockmonkee’s work. Get over it.

hahaha you guys dont get the point. i understand there called pyknic clothing, but what i meant is the style is very similar, it almost looks like the same shirt twice. i wasnt ragging on the design , i think it looks really cool.

you should have tried to do something different instead of the typical pynic basket head, is what im trying to say.

but like i said before its rad none the less, and congrats if they accept it.

i would, but they didn’t want “massive branding” for this piece, they just wanted the pentagon logo in his belt buckle.
