Is that just a halftone setting applied to a gradient??
he probably took the shape of the leaves and brought it into a second document and filled it with the gradient he wanted and halftoned the gradient, grabbed the black halftone dots and dragged them over the captive font and color overlayed the bluish color.... if that made ANY sense.

I second this, I wish the leaves got the same attention the tree did.
i can go along with that, i think if this design had stayed true to the illustration i would have added a lot more detail in the foliage, i took a risk and tried incorporate the brand into the design in an unusual way.
im normally not into heavily branded shirts, but for the end client it was all smiles.
either way, its pretty sick. id be interested in seeing a few other color ways that could maybe be stronger than the white. and i hear ya on the whole branding thing. im at the point where ive finally done a few that dont say my name on it because im retagging them anyway and its always in it, but its a hard jump.

i would like it more without the circles in the back. either way it's awesome.

i think the tree looks great. personally not a fan of the captive all in the top of the tree, but mostly because i think the illustration is so nice.

Thanks for the kind words. If my company wasn't so new, I would feel a little more comfortable with a few non branded shirts.
