Jayna is an amazing artist/designer, other then the fur having a somewhat similar style to it i dont see the similarity to the degree where im copying her style. I have always illustrated fur as little short lines you can look way back at my old designs and see the pigs and such. Also as for not making it my own? there carrots coming out of the goats head...
Jaynas artwork is amazing and if anything ill take that comment as a compliment, but if u look closer you'll see our styles are not exact. Theres not millions of ways to draw fur its either graphic or linear. we both tend to draw it linear. I did the same thing on wild wilderness.
black on white with burst of orange seems too much a contrast for me. but thats opinion based crit. for a softer look, which would be more condusive to an arty goat, would be to put it on some light tan or charcoal, and use another color besides black for the fur... desaturate the carrot. blah blah blah.
good crit i appreciate it and will try out those ideas. I think the main reason this god dogged for looking like jjj's was the position of the goat and the position of her bucks. Hers was much more realistic looking i cant work like that, notice the common weasely eyes and teeth.
That being said if the general consensus is still that i ripped som1 elses style i appologize.
yea i know its not the same, i was trying to say it looks similar, as your said urs is less serious in the way you have drawn the animal an the carrots on top, and like jimiyo said adding colour an what not just saying it would be cool to see if you could take it further. having the fur another colour would be cool.
