Return to sender,Carried straight from the womb to the grave
Your eyes have been paled to emptiness
All thing have been carved out by the unceasing haunts of the Great Manipulator
It's the end of the Earth or something like that
Sit down let's break out the shotguns,Were going to town.
You've given us user friendly grenades
So just what are you trying to say?
I just realized how ironic Hot Topic's description of this tee is. It says "another Hot Topic exclusive," yet Hot Topic in itself isn't exclusive by any stretch of the imagination. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
You know, the sad thing is that you're a really good designer, why don't you stage your own photos or something? I bet if the makers of those movies saw your work they'd actually be really stoked by it but you ruin that by not giving a shit about stealing from them and making money from it.
JuniorKickstart said: haha man. cajun, take it easy. dont be hypocritical. you know you didn't buy your CS programs or every song you listen to. who cares.
anyways, its a sweet design. good job!!
hypocritical?where I get CS programs is besides the point, I'm not remaking those songs as my own work. how about you go make a zombie movie, have this dude rip images from it and make more money from his shirts than you spent on special effects and then come talk to me.
EZ is a great designer he just happens to make his best work from images he doesn't own i.e. he rips it off. And you and and EZ BOTH don't seem to give a shit.
I work for a living. I can't just take the best images from the movies I like to make an awesome shirt from and use it to pay the bills . I have to actually use my imagination. So, when dudes like EZ make bank and then talks about how he doesn't give a shit, yeah, it gets a bit aggrovating.
Kyle has said over and over that he has never said he's the creator of some of his work, he just doesn't care. That's fucked up. He's said that he's just a small fish but what does he think the creators of those movies were when they came out? blockbusters? They were just like him, small fish in a big movie pond. The only difference is now those movies have a cult following and EZ is cashing in on it by stealing their imagery.
do you own that tire? cuz if not, yure really upsetting the guy who spent the time armor alling that tire and getting it just right for the angle and the perfect picture.
awe sweet man one of my favorite movies is maximum over drive is that what your day job is? A truck driver?
cuz if not youre making a very very lonely man a extra sad one tonight. Hes probably on the CB crying about you right now as we speak.. HOW COULD HE USE MY TRUCK?! HOW DARE HE, ITS ALL GOTS...10-4
HARRY HOUDINI!? do you know how many hours it took him to perfect his hair in that shape. He was so proud that he had someone take a picture of it and PRESTO CHANGO! you used for a shirt design to make a buck. Harry Houdini would roll in his grave if he found out. That is if he was in there!
alakazam!
listen dude. quit trying to be this victimized vigilante who wants whats right in the design community. You only see what I allow you to see. You have no idea what Ive been designing and what I have designed.
Everyone here is preaching but you know, people need to start backing up their word and truth be told most of those PICS FROM MOVIES and generally used for myself... Another truth be told is I do set up shots, in fact I have a gallery of zombie pics of myself... but then again no one will want to have me on their shirt all the time.
when i get less busy ill set up shoots, but until then I have to pull what resources I have... SO FUCKKKKKKKK OFFFFF
Sorry Kyle, didn't mean to go off so hard on you. I get 10 feet tall when I've had a few. But truth be told, I took that picture of the semi. It's all legit. The image of the tire is royalty free, and the Harry Houdini is a picture of me, if you bothered to read my explanation of it you'd figure that out. I hope that clears up the 'backing up my word' bit. You can't justify what you do with what you just said. The End. Ok, wait you got me, the hair is Harry's but that's hardly the same thing. As far as pics used for yourself, I'm only speaking about the shirts you SELL FOR MONEY on your site. I'm glad your new line only has 2 shirts from someone else's movies and even one of those is a great parody (Stay Tuff).
Anyways I'd love to see more of the stuff you yourself are responsible for because you are actually a good designer sorry to go so apeshit but I do care about the design community. That being said I'll leave you alone dude.
edit: no I won't. There's nothing wrong with what I'm saying. Personal use is one thing and profit is another.

There is a lot of sense in what is being said here, and there is also no doubt that you are a great designer kyle. I think this subject is a huge issue in the design community, and it may come down to what a design is. Is a design an original photo/drawing? Or is design the art of composition and arrangement?
Ethically, we can also agree that a shirt that utilizes famous imagery will be more appealing instantly to a wider audience of people, and original art takes longer to cultivate a strong following and audience.
All things aside, I think Cajun has strong points, and I think you are a great designer, and it's true also what you said, when you are really busy, you have to pull from resources you got.

This shirt rules so hard. I saw it at Saints and Sinners last year, but my size was gone. Needless to say, I was pissed.
