Working on illustrator is timeee consuming. I think it came out alright. I designed this just to work on my line work and the pen tool. Any recommendations .. what’s easier ... pen tool or brush? If someone could point me in the direction of creating custom brushes or how to get better lines with the pen tool would be great.

pen tool only. and this illustration should not be time consuming. i could create this illustrator from scratch in under 5 minutes. thats not to brag, just to let you know that people get fast at illustrator and much more detailed images become a breeze. just keep doing it and you’ll be fine.
as for this shirt, i like the face and text, but the stripes in the back are kinda played.
