I was thinking that if you did some feathering, or just anything to make the shading less choppy and aggressive, it would help alot. Also if you made the blood spatters finer, they’d appear to be more of a blood texture and less as just splotches.
I think it is a really amazing illustration, but the shading is holding it back.
