I know most of you aren’t going to give this the time of day but Im posting anyway. This is for a Political "Positive Politics" Campaign Tee Shirt contest. Even if I wasnt conservative I probably would have chosen McCain because there are a zillion Oboma tee designs out there.
Anyway, I was inspired by McCains service to my Country by serving in the US Navy. This was the perfect opportunity to use my inspiration of traditional tattoo art, evoke the name of Sailor Jerry and try to bang out an old school tattoo design. I really appreciate this era of tattoo design, because back then it was ok to be proud of our Armed Services and you could still be a patriot.
Im proud to announce that I actually won this contest!

I like the design. Im a bit confused about this though: "because back then it was ok to be proud of our Armed Services and you could still be a patriot."

Thanks guys! Kevin, Im saying back in the 40's WWII era, when the Americana tattoo design was popular people were genuinely proud of their country and they were not looked down on for it. A lot of the designs that the sailors got tattooed were patriotically inspired. Things just seem to be different today.
