I made this design to hopefully print in time for FEST7. I wanted to make something that would make someone want to sit and read the lyrics in a CD jacket, than just download it online. Sometimes the best music you listen to is when you read along with it and it affects you positively.

I doubt it... I scanned in an actual tape and went from there. I did see something the other day though with a vertical collage of tapes in negative.

I agree with your statement, and the Fest usually has great bands that actually have substance. We’ve turned music into something disposable, just like everything else in our culture.
On the design, I would suggest a different font, it seems to simple for the idea.

Thanks Ravi. I was thinking that too, I wanted it to make a bolder statement. I was thinking of doing a font by hand, or changing it to a dark red.

i like the design. not a fan of the font color. i’d give the actual tape lines more depth- make it look more realistic..
but either way it’s a cool design and i dig it!
